It is soft underfoot (it would totally work for a playroom!) and literally hides EVERY SPEC OF DIRT AND CRUMBS.
Like I mentioned before, I’ve bought it a few times now for clients and even for my own house. I just got the 10×14 size for our living room and it looks AMAZING. I didn’t realize how much I missed having a plush rug in there! Linus is loving it too. :)
Here are all the sizes below. The only size I haven’t seen in person yet is the $45 runner, which I might grab one for staging at Gentry! I’m giddy thinking about this rug on those beautiful white oak floors! :)
7’10″x11’2″ Rug (great for a smaller living room or a bedroom with a Queen size bed or smaller!)
9’x12′ Rug (perfect for most living rooms and playrooms!)
10×14′ Rug (best for large living rooms with two sofas)
Here are a few more images of friends homes who love the rug as much as I do! Isn’t it gorgeous?! Tag me (@jennykomenda) on Insta if you have this rug too and I’ll feature you in my stories! :)

This huge 36″ round mirror is only $159! I’m going to grab a couple for a bathroom project we are working on! I especially love the little hanger detail at the top! :)
Here are a few more favorites, including picks that are under $50! Super excited to do some shopping of my own. OKL hardly ever does big site-wide sales like this, so be sure to take advantage before the sale ends Wednesday night!

Happy Friday! This felt like a shorter than usual week for us. We left for Las Vegas Market on Sunday and came home reallllllly late on Tuesday, and we’ve been playing catch up since! Market was incredible. I left feeling inspired and excited to get the Juniper Studio home collection up and running this fall. Our goal is value-driven products that are affordable and unique, and that ship VERY quickly. I think we found some really special pieces that I think will all fit the bill! I hope you saw a sneak peek of some of our picks on my stories. What did you think? What would you like to see more of in the collection? What do you feel is missing in the market today?
I learned my lesson last time I went to High Point – comfort first when you’re covering miles and miles of showrooms! I wore these camel sandals and these Birkenstocks (that are SO comfy, but have skinny straps and thinner soles – love them SO much) and my feet were happy the whole time.
One the way home from Vegas we stopped by the Seven Magic Mountains (top image here!) and we took some photos that might end up in the print shop. I have to admit it was cooler in real life than I expected!
Aspen Creek Photo is our go-to place for printing large prints for our projects (like this giant 30×40 print of FLORA). They are having a 30% off sale on all sizes for just this weekend!! Use the code PRINTS30 at checkout. I am ordering a ton of giant prints for the shop. You just can’t beat their pricing, especially for the big sizes! With the sale, a 30×40 would be only about $30! INSANE. If you have been thinking about getting an oversized version of your favorite print (like our new best seller I LIKE YOU VERY MUCH), now is the time!! (PS We usually get ours printed in matte or luster finish.)
Speaking of the print shop, we are retiring four more prints this week to make room for new prints coming next week. I’ll be sad to see these pretties leave on Friday night, but out with the old and in with the new!
“Back to School” is in full swing around here and it’s the perfect time to get your entryways organized! We all know they will become a dumping ground for bags, books, etc. all too soon!
Want to go a more simplistic route? We installed this hook series in a cabin project last summer. It couldn’t have been easier. Just a primed pine board from the hardware store and a series of these brass hooks! DONE!
Here are a few hooks we’ve been loving and a round up of actually-cute back packs and lunch bags for those of you sending your kiddos back to school next week like I am!
And finally, did you see Joanna posted a tour of her new apartment? This was the third apartment she has invited me to help her decorate and it was amazing to be a part of each! It was fun to find the right places for old pieces and to source a few new items that fit in with the old furniture and art we both love so much. Check out her post for all the beautiful images!
Happy Friday, friends! Somehow another week has come and gone, which means it’s time for the second edition of our new round up series we’re calling Love Notes. (And thanks for being as excited as we are about the series! I’m so glad you guys loved the first one!) 1) Let’s talk about the biggest…
Happy Friday, friends! Somehow another week has come and gone, which means it’s time for the second edition of our new round up series we’re calling Love Notes. (And thanks for being as excited as we are about the series! I’m so glad you guys loved the first one!)
1) Let’s talk about the biggest news first: There are FOUR new Jenny’s Print Shop prints!! I am SO excited about these summery, happy prints! And due to popular demand, we are keeping the Buy Two Get One Free code active through the weekend probably, so be sure to take advantage of the code soon to snag some of these new prints (or if you’ve been waiting on some of the older ones, now is probably the time!).
Our plan is to introduce three or four new prints every other week and to retire three or four during the week between. I’m hoping this keeps the collection fresh and fun! We are launching an artist collaboration program this month as well. If you are a photographer or a painter and you’d be interested in having your prints listed on Jenny’s Print Shop, please email us through the site!
**Also – Don’t forget to use the hash tag #jennysprintshop for a chance to win THREE prints every single week!! We will be picking a new winner every Wednesday.
2) Speaking of prints! You guys, these wall strips are our absolute best friends! We use them all the time around the studio. They are perfect for hanging single prints, putting together a gallery wall without getting stressed out about putting a million holes into your walls, and especially awesome for those of us who are constantly rearranging the art in their house (I know we are in good company here!).
Another one of my favorite ways to display art is with picture ledges! They give you so much freedom to rearrange and swap art in and out. We just put up two 24 foot long ledges up in the new studio using this tutorial, but I did the ones at my mom’s house using three of these ledges, hung right next to each other and then caulked in the seams. Both methods are cheap and so easy!
3) We have also been getting a lot of questions about what kind of frames we most often use for projects. It can be especially tricky to find affordable large frames! I just bought these basic white frames to have on hand for the studio and they are a great option! Super simple and affordable at only $18.99 each, especially for the 20×30″ size! Did you know you can get 20×30″ prints at Costco for only $9,99?! Such an easy way to fill up your walls without being a budget-buster! Here are some more of our other tried and true favorite frames.
4) I am always being asked about what sunglasses I am wearing in my Instagram stories. Have you discovered Quay yet?? I might be changing your life right now. Even at full price they are already really affordable for the quality, but these three styles are on sale right now for under $40! They are seriously my favorite. They don’t break or scratch like Old Navy ones do, but if you lose them your week won’t be ruined. :)
5) While I really love the bedding I have (this is the white linen quilt I have – its on clearance right now!) I’ve been feeling like adding in some more color. Rather than investing in a whole new bedding set, I’m thinking a new throw or some new pillows will do the trick. Anthropologie is having a 20% off bedding and bath sale this weekend and that fringed number is whispering sweet nothings to me.
6) We’re taking a team trip up to Las Vegas this weekend for Market! I’m SO excited to see all the new furniture and accessories! I’ve never been to the Vegas market before, but I’ve been to High Point several times (here’s a post from my most recent market trip), and if Vegas is anything like High Point, I know I’ll be coming home next week inspired and happy!
Have you ever been? Any tips for us? This will actually be my first time really staying in Las Vegas too. I’ve only ever passed through, so there will be a double learning curve on this trip! Hooray for new experiences though and for team bonding time. If past team road trips are any indication, I predict there will be lots of laughter and lots of Diet Coke.
Spanish-Inspired Cement and Patterned Tile Round Up!
Like I mentioned in yesterday’s post, we’re going with a modern Spanish look with the Gentry Project, which means there will most definitely be a healthy dose of patterned tile! Like I mentioned in yesterday’s post, we’re going with a modern Spanish look with the Gentry Project, which means there will most definitely be a healthy dose of patterned tile! I love that patterned tile brings instant personality into a home. We are working to finalize selections this week for two different patterns (one for the kitchen backsplash around the range and one for the master bathroom) that are unique but play well together. Trust me when I say we have searched to the ends of the earth and the internet for patterned tile (cement, ceramic and porcelain alike!) that is both on the affordable side and has that effortless California cool vibe and colors.
If you’ve been following along on my Instagram stories, you know all about our Gentry Project. I thought I would give you a little back story here! If you’ve been following along on my Instagram stories, you know all about our Gentry Project. I thought I would give you a little back story here!
While I have LOVED doing client work for most of my career, some really big things are happening this year with Juniper Studio that have made it tricky to feel like I have a good handle on that client relationship that is so important to me. So for a few months now I have not been taking on any additional clients while I focus on these new business ideas. It’s been scary to branch out and to have to turn down really cool client opportunities (there were a couple of commercial jobs that were so tempting!!), but I know that it’s so important to say no thanks to good things so we can say yes (more like, YES!!!!!) to the really great things.
Many of you know that we live and work in Mesa, AZ, my home town, and I care deeply about this community of half a million that still feels like a small town. We have a great stock of historic and mid-century homes just waiting to be loved on and prettied up for the sweet, hardworking people that live here and want to raise their families in this community.
One of my dreams for more than a decade now has been to rehab old houses in Mesa and other communities in the East Valley of Phoenix, and then also do a pop-up shop in the finished house before selling it. The timing finally felt right this year to move my design business to this model, and the stars aligned when my friend and brilliant real estate agent Amy from Sonny Daily introduced me to the amazing people at Treehouse Contracting Group. Honest, careful, cost-conscience and FAST are all words that come to mind after working with Treehouse as the contractors on the Gentry Project. Seriously, I can’t recommend them enough if you are looking for a good contractor in the Phoenix area!
This post is not meant to skip over all of the good stuff, I promise! We’ll dig deep into the design process and plans with tons of posts and even video reveals that I’m super excited about. It’s mostly meant to be an update on why I am not taking on new clients for at least a few more months and a formal intro to this project that so many of you have shown love for on Instagram already! The really fun part is starting to happen, so I hope you’ll continue to follow along! The flooring goes in next week, which is when a project really starts to take shape for me. I can’t wait to see our beautiful white oak floors installed! And our custom modern iron frame front door going in the week after that is going to be a show-stopper! :)
Here’s a little video I took on my phone right before all the demo started. (Warning: the production quality here is coming in at a level zero! Ha! I promise the new videos will be a LOT better!) It was funny for me to watch this again and remember just how bad this house was before. The kitty litter rake in the gravel bath tub surround?! (gasp!) It was also funny to hear all the layout plans we had in the beginning that we have switched up now. Sometimes you just gotta get in there and open up some walls before you can really feel what needs to happen in a home, am I right?
I can’t wait to finish up this Spanish-modern, California-cool home in the next couple of weeks! Here are some of our inspiration images below. What would you like to see happen in this house?

Friends, I just wanted to take a second to say thank you. I have felt SO much love and support and general extra sweetness from you all the past couple weeks especially since we made the announcement about growing the team and moving to a new studio space. Juniper Studio is now a team of eight women working together to run, expand or launch five different areas of my business. To say I feel stretched right now is an understatement, but I’ve also never been more excited for the future. Thanks, as always, for following along and for being so generous and gentle with me as I take these wobbly baby steps! :)
Every Friday, we’re hoping to post a short round up of things that we have been OBSESSING over that week. We’re calling the series Love Notes and the posts will mostly be hot tips on super sale items, or shop updates, or just something we saw online that we can’t stop thinking about. Also, so many of you have asked for a few fashion posts here or there. I want to keep this site mostly dedicated to interiors and lifestyle ideas and suggestions, but I think this Love Notes series will be a fun place to mention the clothing items you all ask me the most about on Insta stories. Like my gold circle necklace. Half of the DMs in my Insta are about that thing! :) Is there anything else you’d like to see of these posts? I’d love to hear! And in the meantime, here’s our first Love Note! Happy weekend!! xo Jenny
__________
As you may have heard, we are retiring three prints from Jenny’s Print Shop to make room for the new prints coming next week! Vacancy, Saguaro Lake, and Ponderosa are all leaving the shop and for the next couple of days before they go for good, they are just $8 each! We are also probably ending the reusable “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” promo, so be sure to grab your three favorite prints before the offer is gone!
Also, we’re going to be watching the #jennysprintshop hashtag feed closely and we’ll be picking a winner every Wednesday on our print shop insta to give a code for THREE free prints! So, if you’ve bought some prints in the past, be sure to snap and share a photo of your styled JPS prints and tag us! We love seeing all the beautiful ways you’ve styled your prints!
Urban Outfitters is having a 25% off sale this weekend on lots of their home stuff. I bought all four versions (white, black, brown and natural) of these super cute, super affordable wooden print holders! How PERFECT for a Jenny’s Print Shop print, right? For only $9.99, Costco makes huge 20×30″ prints that would fit perfectly in these dowel print holders!
While you’re shopping the Urban sale, don’t miss their bedding selection! It’s totally acceptable to be a grown woman with neon pink striped sheets, right?? Sure hope so.
We are also still loving this adorable plug in sconce that we featured in our “6 Easy Steps for a Super Dreamy Bedroom” post. They are on big time sale right now, so snag a couple before they are gone. These would be equally amazing flanking an upholstered headboard or on the walls of kids bunks!
And here are some of our favorite clothes from the sale. My all-time favorite black jeans aren’t included in the sale sadly, but they have a really similar version for a great price!
Need a place to hang all of those new clothes from the N*Sale? I did this yarn-wrapped hanger DIY a few years ago and I still love seeing those hangers in our coat closet. Such a happy surprise and a fun pop of color! They makes a great gift and it’s an easy project to involve kids!
Big news, guys! These indigo shibori pillows are on super sale right now!! We used them on a beach house project last year and they are so gorgeous in person! Such a good price for a pillow that size. Hurry up and snag a few before they are all gone! 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 //…

We are so, so excited to order some new office furniture for the studio! There are still construction projects going on around us (check out my Instagram stories today for more behind the scenes!), but the craziness and sawdust is only making us more excited to get everything figured out and our orders placed. The problem is there are too many good options out there right now! We are going to have such a hard time narrowing it down. Here are some of our favorites! We’d LOVE your opinions if you have seen any of these in person! I sat in this chair (#3 below) at World Market the other day and I actually really liked it. (Extra tempting because it’s on super sale!!)
For now we are sticking with our simple Ikea desks, but may have plans to rearrange the space and change them out in the future. I love the clean, modern lines of these desks! I think we’d all like having some options that have drawers, but that still feel really light and open.
I am completely, totally obsessed with those green metal cabinets! That COLOR! How amazing would a few of them look lined up on our new shiplap wall?! We also need a few cabinets with drawer storage for the east wall of the studio and a couple of these I think could fit the bill nicely. We are also loving that tall caned cabinet from Urban Outfitters, which is very similar to the one we have had our eye on at Ikea. It’s supposed to be back in stock in August at our local IKEA, but last time it came back in stock, they sold out in a morning! Sad! Maybe I’ll just grab the Urban version instead?
There are so many great task lamps out there right now, especially in the budget range. Every single one of us here is obsessed with the this gorgeous lamp. Wouldn’t it be pretty to have one on every desk? I think we could swing it at that price too! It comes in copper, mustard, brass, white and black. I have a feeling the hard part will be deciding between so many great color options! Which is your favorite?
Who says office accessories have to be boring and ugly? I’m pretty sure you can’t get bummed out organizing files when your folders come in so many cute, happy colors! And we are in DESPERATE need of new mouse pads (the IKEA desks don’t work with the Apple mouse!) and I can’t wait to get our order of those pretty leather ones. (PS they also come in a gorgeous Juniper green!)
Do you have any office must-haves that you can’t live without?

Things are moving right along with the new studio space this week! I am using a very nice carpenter for our library shelves, some shiplap and a few art ledges we are hanging in the front of the shop. He did all the trim work on that restaurant we designed earlier this year and he is great. The poor man has been so sweet about getting all of this work done quickly for us, and while we are working in the space too! I am pretty sure he thinks I’m crazy for wanting everything white, but I just LOVE the way color pops on an all-white background.

I get asked so often about my favorite materials to use for countertops. I love using natural stone whenever possible! It’s so great to have something one of a kind and unique in the way only mother nature can produce!
I know it can be overwhelming to show up to a slab yard and have no idea what you REALLY want. Stone is an investment, yes, but it’s one that can last a lifetime so it’s a great idea to make a classic choice. I find myself drawn to using a few natural stone favorites over and over again, so I thought I’d share with you the stones I love the most and how to best care for your natural stone!
