One of my favorite spaces my team and I designed this year was this cabin bathroom! I’m OBSESSED with the black subway tile we chose and had installed all the way from floor to ceiling on every wall. We used a white epoxy grout to make a high contrast against the black tile and I love the graphic effect. But between the huge amount of black tile and the polished concrete floors, we had our work cut out for us to help this space feel less cold and empty.

The first thing we did to help warm up the space was incorporate a little brass with this mirror over the sink. I LOVE mixing metals in bathrooms and kitchens. When everything is the same finish, the result can be really one note. The trick to pulling off the look is to stick to two or three metals, max. And if you go with three finishes, make sure one of them is black!

We are taking on some big renovation projects at our house in 2017 and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it! We started our first project, the girls bathroom, over Christmas break and things are humming right along! Here’s what the bathroom looked like just a few days ago. It was the only room in the house that we hadn’t touched yet and it was such an eye sore! Crooked light fixtures and all! :)

We pulled out everything – all the old brick veneer floor tile and the beigey almond tub surround as well as the old vanity and the pony wall the didn’t actually offer up any privacy and only managed to make the room feel smaller (bye!). Our plumber had a place to reuse our old cast iron tub so he’ll pull it out when he comes next week to do all the valve work. IT IS SO HEAVY. Here it is! A monster list of everything I’ve bought and LOVED this year and some items that I have on my own holiday wish list. (Here’s last year’s list if you’re looking for even more ideas!) As always, it would be great to hear from you about the things you are loving too!

lgn-gg6

Leather pillow – I’ve seen a few designers lately using these gorgeous camel leather pillows mixed in with patterned fabric pillows and the layering and texture is BEAUTIFUL.

Black & white striped tassel pillow – I’m still obsessed with black and white, and stripes, and tassels so this pillow scratches all those itches for me! :)

Dainty Birthstone Bracelets – I love either really chunky bracelets or really dainty bracelets. This etsy seller makes affordable gold-fill bracelets and necklaces with really lovely, more organic and raw versions of birthstone gems (as well as super cute personalized bar pieces). I would love one stacked on my arm for each of my girls!

Letter Light Box – I bought the XL size for a commercial client a few months ago and loved the font and size so much I bought one for our house. It’s super fun for holiday and birthday decorating especially!

Pointed-Toe Ballet Flats – Every now and then I check in at Talbots for shoes on super clearance. I like that some of their shoes, like these suede pointed ballet flats, come in classic shapes but have granny shoe support. :) These are amazingly comfortable and supportive and look adorable with a black sweater and jeans. (see below)

Elements by Erin Gates Rose Candle – Erin sent me one of her candles from her new line and I’m obsessed with the amazing scent! We have it in our bedroom and I feel like the scent lingers for days after burning. I love it!

Marbled Match Boxes – This match box is pretty much just everything I want in life.

Young House Love Coloring Book – I’m still loving the coloring book trend and this one featuring beautiful interior spaces from John and Sherry is *right* up my alley! I will not be sharing this one with the kids though. :)

Domino’s 2nd Book – My Domino editors put out a new book and it’s GORGEOUS. Seeing a couple photos of my house projects grace a few of the pages made me blush! Thanks ladies!

lgn-gg1

Work Hard and Be Nice to People print – We have this print hanging in the hallway by our mudroom and pantry so we get to see it all day, everyday. It’s pretty popular for good reason. I love the look and I love the sentiment even more. We have made it our family motto.

World’s softest robe – I’ve had this suuuuuuuper soft jersey robe for a few years now and I’m still obsessed with it. It is the perfect weight for a robe if you ask me – it keeps you warm, but it never gets hot the way fluffly robes can.

New Balance Tennies – Love them, wear them a couple times a week and still constantly get compliments.

Most Flattering High-waisted workout leggings – So about a year ago I randomly found a pair of these high-waisted compression leggings at the Nike outlet on crazy clearance by the checkout counter. I can’t remember the exact price but they were cheap enough that I bought them without trying them on at the store! #lazy :) I COMPLETELY lucked out though and they have turned out to be my most favorite leggings of all time. They are SO flattering. I’ve bought two more pairs (on sale, but more than my first pair for sure) and they are worth every single penny!

32 oz Stainless Steel straw and cup – This cup is a MIRACLE if you’re like me and only want ice, ice, ice cold beverages! It somehow keeps ice frozen for at least 24 hours in the middle of the Arizona summers?! And the stainless steel straw is my absolute favorite and makes my water taste better and chillier! There are a few versions of cups like this, but this one is on the more affordable side and I like that it can hold a lot of water.

Marbled Yoga Mat – I have a dear friend and yoga buddy that will be getting this beauty of a mat on the 25th!

Burgundy Leather Nikes – I don’t have these yet, but I’ve seen them floating around on the internet and insta and I had to finally cave before they sell out again. I love dressed up tennies for busy days of running errands and site visits. FYI – It seems like from reading the reviews that the right move is to order a half size up.

I am Freaking Cold sweatshirt – Hahaha.

lgn-gg2

Gift Certificate for a ceramics class – My mom and sister both have fall birthdays so for their presents this year, I got them a once-a-week ceramics course at our local arts center. We just finished our last class of throwing and glazing for the semester and we decided to start again next session because we all loved it SO much! I feel like the best presents are experiences and I hope to do more things like this in the future, especially with my girls. (PS these beautiful vessels are made by the hugely inspiring ceramics studio, Tortus Copenhagen)

Hair-on Hide Black Crossbody Bag – I have the red version of this bag and I love it’s small size. I usually have a big tote with me for work, so I can keep my every day bag edited down to the essentials – phone and wallet and keys. FREEDOM!

Opal Bar Earrings – I have the diamonds and now the opal version of these earrings and I find myself wearing one pair or the other most days! They are easy but feel special and a tiny bit fancy.

Brass and Marble Jewelry Stand – I have all my jewelry organized in our Pax wardrobes in our bedroom, but I wear some mix of a few of the same 15 or 20 pieces of small and simple jewelry most of the time. I got this marble and brass stand as a gift and I love being able to keep all my heavy-rotation pieces right by the sink in my bathroom! The top mini bowl is perfect for wedding rings and the bottom marble bowl camouflages my retainers. :)

Blue Striped mini tassel Pillow – I LOVE this color in the blue stripe and those mini tassels are A+++++!

Record Player – I got Michael a record player for his birthday (this bluetooth one has been super nice) and its really fun for both of us to add albums to our collection! Michael will find really great (super random) albums online and there are a couple of local record stores that sell used albums for only a couple of dollars. We’ve been finding some gems together on date night. The girls LOVE putting on Sound of Music and Wizard of Oz …and Taylor Swift :)

Pointed Toe Boot – I bought these beauties at full price like a sucker, but no regrets! They are gorgeous and comfortable and a fun, different shape with the flattering pointed toe. They are on super sale now, lucky you!

Kilim Body Pillow – Here’s the etsy shop where I bought the long lumbar for our bed in my last post. They have lots of patterns and colors in the same size. I love the way it looks on a king sized bed! (PS This down body pillow it the perfect size insert.)
lgn-gg3

Best-smelling Dry Shampoo – Okay, for every day (like, even the days I actually wash my hair) I use this miracle powder dry shampoo. It gives my fine Swedish hair some body and life! But if I’m on day 3 or 4 of not washing my hair, I also spray in this dry shampoo from Living Proof because it SMELLS AMAZING. It’s like febreeze for your dirty hair.

Tinkle Face Razors – So a few months ago a friend was raving about these little razors and when I finally bought them I realized instantly I would never pay for a facial again. These little babies are about 75 cents each and they, combined with the mirror below, will carefully and easily take off all your dry skin and peach fuzz without any irritation. You’re welcome.

Polished Nickel 10x magnifying light-up mirror – I don’t have great lighting in my bathroom, but this little mirror has become my saving grace for putting on makeup and doing my nightly mini facials (see above).

Balloon sleeve sweater – I have the red and black version of this flattering sweater and I’m eying the ivory now that it’s on super-sale. Runs true to size, but I would probably order a little smaller than you normally do because of the sleeves? It’s sort of a cropped fit so I love it paired with pencil skirts or high-waisted jeans.

Natural leather wallet – I’m so drawn to natural leather anything – the color is phenomenal after a good oiling and a few months of wear! Michael needs a new wallet and I’ve had my eye set on this one.

Super-dainty gold bracelet – Perfect for layering!

Eyelash and brow serum – I got my eyebrows microbladed this month (SO HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS) but if you’re not wanting to go to extremes like me for lush brows, this super affordable all-natural serum works wonders for filling in thin eyebrows and lashes!

lgn-gg-4

Buffalo check throw – We used this throw for Lucy’s apartment redo – remember that one? I still love the pattern and texture on that beautiful Article sofa! I’d love one of both for my own home!

Chalkboard planters – How fun and different would it be to give these great chalkboard planters and some fresh herbs for Christmas!? I know my mom or sisters would love this!

Mens leather and brass belt – This leather and brass combo is a CLASSIC. He will love it.

Brushed brass tie clip – Michael asked for a tie clip this year and I’m loving the subtle brushed brass finish on this one. I like giving fun ties as a gift to the men in my life, but a tie AND a tie clip takes it next level! I’ve seen a some great vintage ones at local antique stores too that would be really cool.

The Vintage Showroom: An Archive of Menswear – I’m dying to get this book that shows beautiful photos of a huge archival space where all the fashion icons (like Karl Lagerfeld) apparently go to get inspiration. The photos show details on the construction of really, really old and special pieces of menswear, so you can geek out like I did over the amazing craftsmanship from years gone by.

Where Chefs Eat – I can’t wait to get my hands on this book that acts like a directory of restaurant recs from the best chefs in the world. Such an amazing concept!

Blonde tortoiseshell sunglasses – Cool shades for your cool dude.

Brass collar stays – We lose collar stays semi-often around here, but maybe if they were golden and had a special leather pouch…??

lgn-gg4

Camel Sweater – The pom pom on the hood sold me.

Hologram pencil case – My girls love having their own pencil pouches in the car (filled with the best crayons around) and in their backpacks. This case would make an extra-cute stocking stuffer.

Mouse in a Match Box – This sweet little doll comes with it’s own travel case – the cutest little match box you ever did see. You know how some toys just speak to kids of all ages? Every single one of my girls from Grace, age 11, down to Margot, almost 2, LOVES this little mouse toy for some reason. It’s pretty dang cute.

Floral Jumpsuit – My friends started Alice and Ames only a few years ago and I am in awe of the wonderful company they have built! Their dresses and jumpsuits, with the signature scoop back, are beautiful and wash amazingly well. A favorite of mine and my girls!

Extra Special Gift Wrap – Jordan knocked it out of the park with her Oh Happy Day party shop, but I have my eyes locked on her gorgeous gift wrap sets! For those special gifts that need something better than the standard Target or Homegoods paper!

Earring Set – This set is the PERFECT gift for that suddenly fashion-conscious pre-teen in your life. The earrings are beautiful and you will catch yourself borrowing pairs often!

lgn-gg-5

Striped Jersey Jammies Dress – Another local friend started this cutest pajama line for little girls and mommas called Plain Jane. Trust me when I say these dresses are nice enough to be worn out and about! The stripes and check patterns are my most favorite!

All about Me workbook – I originally bought one of these for one of my daughters at Anthropologie, but the price on Amazon was so good, I bought two more for my other older daughters. I did an insta story showing some of the amazingly imaginative pages. It’s like a scrapbook/workbook for kids that asks hilarious questions and drawing prompts, like, if you had a castle, what would the flag look like? And, what’s inside your fridge right now? What do you WISH was in your fridge right now? :) I selfishly can’t wait for my kids to finish their books so I can confiscate them and put them away forever and ever.

Least expensive buffalo check pillow on the earth – Like, really, with that $6 price tag?! Amazon, you have my heart.

Tortoiseshell resin clips – You know I love them if they make the gift guide two years in a row. This size is my new favorite for when I do a far side part and want to keep the smaller side pinned back.

Ceramic hand dish – A really cool handmade object from a really cool lady.

Bunny Art in my most favorite Framebridge frame – You guys know how much I LOVE digital downloads (pssssst – I’m opening up a shop very, very soon!) and these bunny prints in my favorite natural frame are going under the tree for our bunny, Margot.

Pompom beanie – You know when you’re on like day 5 or 6 of not washing your hair (sounds gross, but I swear I have double the hair that I used to when I was washing my hair every day in the shower!) and no amount of dry shampoo will salvage your look? HATS are the answer. And beanies in particular. Pom pom beanies are just the cherry on top.

When I look around at my house, I can pretty easily spot the “domino design decision” in every room. I’m not talking about the magazine (I only wish my house looked more #sodomino), I mean the decision that caused alllllll the other choices in the room. You know, like the pretty new rug that started as an innocent little purchase but makes you want to buy a new sofa, that makes you want new pillows, that makes you change your art. And side tables. And lamps. And! And! And!

jennybedroom-41

jennybedroom-59

Well, I gave myself an early Christmas present this year and used some store credit to buy the canopy bed that I’ve had my eye on for a long time. Buying the bed was pushing that first design domino in what turned out to be a bedroom refresh, though I really did try to keep the other room changes to a minimum! :) One important change that I’m thrilled with is our new mattress. The new bed frame is bigger than our old bed so we knew we were going to have to get a new mattress. We have had a Leesa for the past year or two and we’ve really loved it. We have another one in Grace’s room and one for our guest room and they’ve all been great! Leesa recently reached out to tell me about their new luxury mattress line called Sapira. The 100% American-made mattress features a unique pocketspring system positioned between multiple layers of their amazing performance foams so that it offers incredible support but still has that cushioning bounce Leesa is known for! Sounds amazing, right? I was dying to have one for our new canopy bed. Continue reading “Our New Canopy Bed and the World’s Most Comfortable Mattress!”

Twice a year, designers and shop owners from all over trek to a quaint little town in North Carolina called High Point. It’s a huge production – literally MILES of showrooms full of furniture and lighting and rugs and accessories. It’s a designer’s heaven! Sadly, you can only attend if you are in the trade, but I have some photos to share with you from my fall market trip! I also spoke on a Domino/Chairish panel and got to run into some old friends while I was there. (Caitlin has a new shop in San Francisco and her new products are BEAUTIFUL!). It was a super fast, but super inspiring couple of days.

The older I get, the more I LOVE Thanksgiving. Somehow the holiday always sort of expands and stretches the whole length of the week, and other than the food prep and maybe some lightweight decorating, there are absolutely no strings attached. Just a lot of relaxing and sleeping and moving-watching and sweater-wearing. And the eating, of course.

We take our Thanksgiving meals pretty seriously around here and I think we have a pretty perfect menu nailed down. We’re heading up to my parents’ on Thursday but we got to host Michael’s family for Thanksgiving part one last Sunday and here’s what we served:

  1. Brined and roasted turkey
  2. Mashed potatoes and gravy
  3. Stuffing
  4. Sweet Potato Pecan Crumble
  5. Beet, apple and pistachio salad
  6. Maple glazed carrots
  7. Prosciutto-wrapped asparagus
  8. Pumpkin pie

It’s a ton of food, yes, but the mix is so nice. And the leftovers alone are worth every hour spent in the kitchen for this special meal! I feel like I finally have all my favorite and best recipes gathered up and I’m excited to share them with you below. Feel free to leave comments with any questions or suggestions – I promise to be open-minded, but it’s pretty hard to imagine this meal tasting any better! :) Continue reading “All My Tried and True Thanksgiving Recipes”

So, is it refreshingly honest or just sort of a bummer when you finally realize you can’t have kids/a dog and perfectly clean rugs? t was about 50/50 for me.  The last two rugs we had in our living room had entirely too much white in the pattern, which is to say ANY AMOUNT OF WHITE. I feel like we’re pretty clean people but it seems like even the tiniest bit of white was getting dingy so fast. It just wasn’t a great look and I knew it was time for an easier solution.

img_6742
img_6781-copy

So I tossed up my white-rug white flag and took my own advice that I often give to clients with kids and pets: if little feet touch it, make it the color of dirt.

2img_6927

img_6702

I had selected this beautiful, well-priced and ENORMOUS rug for a client recently and when we ended up going sans-rug in her space, I happily picked up this beauty for myself to replace the white moroccan style we’ve had in the living room for the last 8 months or so. I’ve been using eSaleRugs for my own home and clients for years and their rugs are consistently even better in person than in the photos (and I’ve found the opposite to be true with eBay rugs!).

img_6809

img_6620

img_6820

A few things I love about this rug:

  • While it’s not exactly the color of dirt, there are no sections of the pattern that are white. :) In general though it’s still light and airy – just what this shadowy room needs!
  • The rug straight up camouflages dog prints and kid mess alike – I’m thinking of a couple recent tragic lego+bare foot incidents. Ouch!
  • That pop of hot pink makes my heart skip a beat every time I walk in the room, but you wouldn’t really call it a pink rug, you know? It’s not at all overly girlie.
  • It layers with my cheap IKEA sisal like a CHAMPION.
  • I suddenly love my white coffee table again after months of considering getting a new one! Sometimes it just takes a new backdrop to love your furniture again.

Pretty thrilled with our new rug and how it’s holding up! Here are a couple more from eSaleRugs that I had saved in my cart for consideration. It looks like they’re having a Black Friday preview sale today and everything’s 50-60% off, too! Happy shopping!

I’m surprised at how many emails and comments I get requesting more holiday ideas and gift guides every year! I’ve had so much fun working on these types of lifestyle posts in the past, I can’t wait to jump back in. Gifting is one of my stronger love languages, and I especially love figuring out ways to make the gifts feel personalized and unique. That said (confession time), the holidays snuck up on me last year and my gifts were a little/a lot flat. I waited too long to figure out presents and ended up at the last minute over-spending on presents that were pretty meaningless. You know, gifts like a light-up magnifying vanity mirror and some boring dress socks. :) Not a highlight of my gift-giving career.

Shutterfly has been one of my go-to sources for unique gifts in years past and I was thrilled when they invited me to share some of my favorite personalized home decor and gift items with you! Their beautiful products are easy to customize and come so quickly in the mail. I made a few things for our house recently and I can’t wait to round out my Christmas-giving list with a few other Shutterfly items in the coming weeks!

A few weeks ago I had this photo of Margot printed on canvas and framed for the playroom (inspiration here). It was super easy to upload one of my photos and they have this cool option where your image can be automatically cropped and split between two frames. I love the bright pink background against our white walls! Every time I see that sweet face, I think of how much she loves her big sisters. They make her laugh harder than I ever can! :)

I was really excited to make a custom plush fleece blanket for the playroom as well. I scanned in the fabric from one of my grandmother’s dresses and uploaded the file here.

The fleece is silky soft and I was super impressed with the print quality. The girls LOVE this blanket for the comfort and the sentiment.

My little sister, Heather, got married a few months ago (I just remembered I still haven’t shared the reception photos here! Coming soon!). Heather’s flowers were out of this world. We had a really fun time decking out the house and yard with garden roses and peonies galore. I used one of the images of her wedding bouquet to make her a paper weight for a little gift recently. She is a junior high teacher now and I know she loves having a little reminder of her special day on her desk at work.

I also had this photo of the girls at Heather’s wedding printed for their little hall landing area by their bedrooms.

I also got an extra large olive colored canvas tote for hauling around samples to job sites and design presentations. Isn’t the script font great? Hi friends!! I didn’t mean to stay away for so long. Forgive me? Things have been busy, busy with work travel and family trips the past few months especially. It’s been a crazy whirlwind of airports and road trips, complete with all the intense post-trip catch up, but I’m back home now with no more trips planned through the new year and I’m not one bit sad about it! I’m feeling energized and excited to wrap up some of these really fun client projects we’ve been working on, but I’m most excited to start blogging regularly again! I have an enormous amount of photos and finished client projects to catch you up on. Also Michael and I are tackling the next phase of reno projects here at the house this fall/winter and I can’t wait to document the process!

The last trip I just got home from was a fast and furious long weekend in NYC. I had two quick work meetings that happily lined up with a girls weekend to celebrate my friend, Angie’s 40th. Angie is an amazing stylist and personal shopper now living in the Bay Area, but she was one of my dearest friends when we all lived in New York a few years ago. That was such a crazy time of my life. Looking back, it’s hard to wrap my mind around how we all survived. Many of us were launching our careers at the time and all of us were raising little ones in a city that can be tricky for kids, with spouses working at law firms or banks that required completely insane hours. We relied on each other for almost everything during those most precious, most intense years. Some of these ladies still live in the city, but many of us have moved away. It was SO fun to all meet up together and pick up right where we left off years ago. We ate all sorts of delicious food, danced our hearts out and slept WAY less than we should have. Love these sweet friends and love this beautiful city. Continue reading “(An Overdue) Update on Life Lately”

About a year ago, I got a new client submission form from a really cool couple in NYC who were building two cabin structures on their family property near Hood River, Oregon. Not only were they amazingly flexible and trusting from the get-go, their beautiful property is about an hour drive from Portland (one of my favorite cities), on one of the prettiest stretches of road known to man, so… yeah. Taking this family on as a client was a no-brainer! I knew the results were going to pretty, but the install this summer was even better than I imagined. Everything came together beautifully!

img_5917-copy

img_5805-copy

img_5784-copy

We started working with this family after the structures had been framed, but before any of the finishes had been selected. It was fun to get creative and figure out how to maximize their budget and get that modern cabin feel.

img_5888-copy

img_5896-copy

I feel like both structures are the perfect size for a vacation home – every room has a purpose and it all feels so cozy! There is a master bedroom and bath in each structure as well as a bunk room and then a great room with a kitchen, living and dining area. The photos I’m sharing here today are a few rooms in the structure we were calling the Shop because it has a large garage attached to it.

img_5936-copy

img_5870-copy

The master bedroom in the Shop is behind the barn door under the cantilevered stairs. It’s not a huge bedroom, but it’s big enough for a queen bed and a long dresser and TV on the other side of the room.

The mustard yellow linen duvet cover was a West Elm purchase a few months back (similar to this one). I love how it looks with the vintage rug and our client’s gorgeous painting with that splash of blue!

The stairs were our own design and I love how they turned out! I like how they’re light and airy and substantial at the same time.

And how about that AMAZING black chesterfield sofa?! We had it custom made out of the most gorgeous, buttery black leather. It’s a full 10 feet long and is like sitting on a cloud. It took a long time for that sofa to finally come in, but we all agreed it was worth the wait in the end! I think it looks especially great paired with the camel leather saddle chair and the wooden slatted bench.

We selected a reclaimed wood mantle and I worked with an amazing local photographer on the art print.

The reclaimed wood dining table is one of my favorite pieces. It doubles as a kitchen island! We designed it and had it made by a local furniture maker.

The schoolhouse chairs were a vintage find and the bench is an antique courthouse pew from a local antiques dealer. All the beautiful oil paintings belong to the client.

We selected a great olive green color for the kitchen cabinets (Benjamin Moore’s Tate Olive) and I love how it works with the polished concrete floors and the soft, warm gray wall color (French Canvas).

The countertops are soapstone and the shelving is reclaimed wood (the same wood used on the stair treads) with a Walnut and Early American mix on the stain.

DIY Instax Polaroid Framed Collage

LGN DIY POLAROID PRINTS

For a long time, we kept an Instax camera in a big bowl on our entry console in NYC. We would take photos more often that way – when friends come over for a visit or when we were headed out for a fun adventure. (I’ve found this seller usually has the best price on film.) We had hundreds of photos from those years and sadly we lost almost all of them during the move a few years ago when a couple of boxes got thrown away accidentally. My heart breaks if I think too much about it. :(

We’ve been building up our collection again, more slowly this time.  Turns out photos are way more fun to take with New York as the backdrop! Who knew? :) It really is such a fun little camera though. It comes in handy all the time. We actually used it a ton at Heather’s wedding reception! I bought a hand bound paper album on Etsy and let the guest take photos if they wanted while they were signing the guest book in the receiving line. By the end of the night Heather and Stephen had a huge scrapbook of photos and notes from friends and family that they keep on their coffee table at home now.

For our own family photos, I have been reluctant to put the polaroids in another album. I have mild PTSD about losing all of them, but I also wanted to be able to see the photos more often so I framed a few for the walls of our new guest bathroom. I was inspired by Rita Konig’s apartment and this Instagrammer’s home.

I picked up a couple of simple white frames from Target but I wanted the polaroids to be mounted on a linen board instead of just paper. I think the textural background adds so much! I used the provided mat as a template to cut out a piece of cardboard to fit perfectly inside the frame. I reused the cardboard packaging that came with the frame, but you can use any box you have handy.

Then I cut some white linen fabric a few inches wider than the cardboard, notched out the corners and folded and taped the fabric down on the backside of the cardboard. You want the fabric to be as tight and wrinkle-free as possible. You might even want to iron the linen before starting to help out the process, though the wrinkles will release over time.

You can lay out your polaroids in a grid pattern like I did, or you could do something a little more loose and artistic, like this piece in Michelle Adam’s old apartment.

I used this removable double-sided tape to mount the polaroids on the linen board. That way I can still put the photos in an album down the road at some point if I feel like switching things up. We already have about 30 more photos now from our vacations this summer so that switch up might happen sooner than later!

LGN BLACK HARDWAREI was also thrilled to hear that Kwikset recently released a deadbolt series that pairs perfectly with my beloved Milan and Halifax series. How gorgeous are these Uptown and Downtown deadbolts?

kwikset dead boltsThey just came out with an Iron Black finish that is the perfect matte black. They were used in a local client’s project and I love how they look on the slab doors that we had customized with routered lines. Pretty right? Those kerfed casements are my favorite. I think the look all together is so clean and modern!
