I posted my cleaning schedule last week when I shared my cleaning closet redo and some of you were curious if my girls help with the household work.
Evie helps out too, but my two older girls are old enough to do some real cleaning as part of their weekly chores. To make their chores a little more exciting (a stretch, I know!) and to give them more ownership, the girls and I decided they needed their own cleaning kits. So we went to Home Depot together and shopped for some supplies to make the kits. We found a huge display with duct tape in all different colors and we thought that would make a cute (and waterproof!) decoration for simple white buckets.
We also picked up some colorful nylon cording.
The girls and I worked together to wrap the buckets in layers of the duct tape. If you roll the bucket while pulling the tape really taut, there won’t be any air bubbles or wrinkles.
Then we used a hot glue gun to wrap the handles in the nylon cording.
It’s surprising to me how putting in even a little extra effort to make something beautiful gives a household item so much more importance. My girls love these buckets and they’ve been diligently doing their chores lately! Success!
The Home Depot and P&G want to give away a few things today so one of you readers can kick start your own cleaning and organizing project! Oh what fun. Love the buckets!! We bought a house from the 1920's and as a result I'm currently going one tiny closet at a time to try and maximize storage solutions. I'm in the bathroom closet at the moment so this would be an amazing win!!

I would buy DUCT TAPE and use it to enter the 4-H Trashion Show-You make a dress out of recycled/unusual materials and I'd use the duct tape to make a pretty outfit. My mom would be happy if I won free tape- I wouldn't keep begging her to buy me some. :D
I need to create a pantry out of a hallway closet and I have been putting it off for far too long. This giveaway would be amazing!
At the end of the month, my husband and I are moving into a townhouse that definitely needs some cleaning. Hoping that adding some fun tape to our cleaning buckets will help motivate me as well as it did your girls! Also, we have our eye on a super cute outdoor dining set at Home Depot! :)
I've been wanting to build a piece of furniture since your other Home Depot Christmas post a while back that showcased that credenza! A gift card would be a nice start. :)
Need to decorate the bare walls of my rental. So that's something I'd do!
Would prob use it to get some primer & paint to redo a rm that I need to rent out for $!
Love this! I want to try using the tape to "paper" the back of the playroom shelves.
I agree with you. If workplace or office will be clean, then clients and coming visitors will also impress with its clean environment. I am also a commercial cleaner and I know its importance. In my opinion, regular cleaning is best way to keep office clean for a long time.Office Cleaning Vancouver
