The living room at the Evergreen house has come such a long way! When we first bought this flip house, the fireplace had been demoed and the flu was buried in the wall. There was an awkward small window in the corner and a strange door to a bedroom right smack dab in the middle of the main wall, a straight shot from the front door. The pass through to the kitchen was short and narrow.

One of the very first additions to the Evergreen house that was made in the 30s was this beautiful little sunroom off the living room. With windows on three sides and the gorgeous coved ceiling, this space was alway my favorite room in the house.  As it turns out, it was also the hardest for me to stage! What’s that about?!

We decided to go bold and dramatic with the bluey-black paint color (Benjamin Moore’s Black Ink).

We’re big believers that design rules were made to be broken, but sometimes, when you’re feeling stuck with a space, rules and formulas can be really helpful.

We get asked a lot about how we like to put pillows together on a sofa and while there are always exceptions, I’ve noticed my go-to arrangement is five pillows per sofa.

We have a living room set up at Juniper Studio, where we like to sit for longer brainstorming meetings about the Print Shop or calendaring for blog content. We’re constantly changing this space with the seasons and trying out new products that brands have sent to us or that we’ve bought to test before sharing with you all. Rejuvenation sent us a couple of beautiful pieces to cozy up our sitting area for fall and I’m absolutely OBSESSED with these new additions.
