Today is an exciting day!! We installed the Gentry Project main bedroom for the One Room Challenge this week and I couldn’t be happier with how this space turned out! It’s all of my favorite things a room can be – colorful with neutral foundations, textural, layered and eclectic.

Here’s a look at how the room started when we got our hands on this old, dated house a few months ago.

One of my favorite purchases from Lucy’s project was this amazing Taza rug from West Elm. It was soft and thick and well-made and, for this room especially, it had just the right amount of color and pattern (which is to say not too much, so that the pillows and art could be the stars of the show)!

I ended up ordering one for Margot’s room after we got home and have convinced a couple of friends to do the same.

One of our goals when working on Lucy’s bedroom redesign was to make it feel different from before, even drastically so. She was ready for this change. But most of all, we wanted her to feel relaxed and comfortable in her room. We wanted the look to be feminine and grown up and serene. Joanna originally suggested the blush color (a color we both love for bedroom walls!) and Lucy was totally on board.
