Macy’s Day Parade Images as Art

I’m working on a really fun nursery project that needs some cool art that’s sort of on the crazier side. I wish we had the right wall space to work with these Macy’s Day Parade photos from the 40s and 50s. Wouldn’t these be amazing blown up really, really huge with a simple, modern frame?…

Wouldn’t these be amazing blown up really, really huge with a simple, modern frame? My $4 print project would totally do the trick!

  1. Me, Rachel: Anything can be printed for personal use. As long as you don't sell the prints, there's no issue at all. Also, these are not quite old enough, but if the image is more than 100 years old, the copyright expires and the image can be printed and sold commercially.

  4. Actually, if you aren't the photographer, I don't think you can print them for your own personal use without permission unless the copyright is expired. I don't understand why people don't respect photographers' rights as artists.

Love your blog, Jenny, but give an artist his due.

  5. I love the pictures, but I would have been terrified of them as a kid….my favorite characters hung by strings by shadowy-looking men….although I had a wild imagination and was scared of most things.

    Love your blog :)
