What a tragic weekend. I’m sure you all have similarly shed tears over the horrible news coming from Connecticut yesterday. After being glued to media all day, I felt completely overwhelmed and raw and heart-broken for those poor families. So I turned off the tv and shut my laptop and I held my little ones tight, feeling just thankful they were safe. Isn’t it hard to find a balance of staying informed and not getting fully absorbed in events that are completely out of your control?
I was supposed to post a holiday give away yesterday the same hour I heard about the Newtown incident and it only seemed right to push it back. I’ll be putting it up later today and then I’m taking the girls out for a walk and hot chocolate. I’m looking forward to letting go of some of these sad and fearful emotions. My aunt works in a school very close to where it happened. When the info first got to us, we were not sure where it was. Then came relief to know she was fine then realization that relief never came for many families. I am holding on tight to my kids. Especially today after being yelled at by a father of a child my 3 year old pushed while playing. We apologized but it was not enough. Why so much anger? Why so much pain? Hugs to all.
I don't know how to get over the fear of sending my little ones to school on Monday, especially when they are scared too. What a nightmare!

I cried so uncontrollably and still ache for those who are mourning and trying to find comfort. I am heart broken. That was also someone's child who did this and that saddened me too.
We all need to take a pause, breathe and make this world better. We need to do it for our children and the future.
