While FLOR tiles aren’t the cheapest flooring option out there, it’s great that they can be cut to fit any space. And I love that the tiles can be replaced if (more like when) major stains happen. In high-traffic areas or in homes with pets and kids, this is a pretty amazing sense of security.

The people at FLOR recommend buying 10% more than your needs just to have on hand. It’s really a good idea to buy at least that much, since there’s a good chance your pattern won’t be available after a year or two.

Here are some of my favorite patterns available at FLOR right now. Have you used these before too?

  1. We have this in our kids' rooms, love it. It gives some fun, personal design and I am prepared for the day that juice sneaks its way back there!

  3. Beautiful! I love 4 and 6. It would be a really good option for my family cabin where we want carpet for the cold months but have so many people tracking in sand/snow/rain.

  4. we've used FLOR in a couple rooms, as well as to outfit our '71 VW bus. i've had to mail order each time, and as usual, it's a challenge to be perfectly happy with something i've bought sight unseen. overall, the ease and functionality outweigh the mis-step in my color choice.

  5. Just bought some for our family room. They should be arriving any day! We went with FLOR for all the reasons you mentioned. Easy to replace when stains happen which is a definite in a family room with kids and a dog.

  6. I love # 6, but am having a hard time with most of their designs..love the idea and definitely see it's use in some applications.

  7. Yes I use them as a hallway runner and door mat for foyer area. With two dogs/dog hair and lots of foot traffic they hold up so well. I bought a few tiles spare as well just in case.

  8. Anon- I think they're sold out, but we bought them somewhere online (like CSN or Wayfair). Here's the info for your search:

48" Wall mounted Coat Hook Strip from Kohburg

State of F-Luxe – I'm not sure I would choose these for stairs. It would be a LOT of cutting and they don't really roll. Better to go with a bunch of runners or just standard wall-to-wall, cut to size.

    xx

  9. Wow!! I just love them all. Especially the idea of using them on the diagonal as a runner of sorts. I'm going to have to keep these in my mind for our next build. Thanks!

  10. I have spec-ed carpet tiles a lot for commercial projects. You won't want these on stairs. They are great for easy installation in places like this and have far less waste. Tip: if you replace a stained tile, take one from elsewhere (along an edge, corner, etc.) in your installation to get one with similar wear. Then fill that space with an extra tile from your stash.

  11. I've had FLOR in my apartment for a little over a year as an area rug. Like you said, Jenny, it isn't exactly the cheapest option, but we needed a size that was in between most standard sized area rugs, so it was a good value.
I'm curious to know if anyone else who has used FLOR for an area rug has had an issue with the tiles separating over time? Despite adding extra stickers underneath, I find that I have to put some of the tiles back together every few months.

  12. This might sound crazy—this post speaks to my heart! I love Flor! I am anxiously waiting for the time when I can bust open Flor's shopping webpage and make a purchase. It's just not now. :(
Thanks for sharing! The area looks great with Flor.

  13. I love the patterned FLOR tiles, but the solids look cheap to me when you can see the seams. I've wondered if the wear spots look odd when you replace them with a newer one? Does anyone have experience with this?

  14. I second the input that the tiles start to separate, esp where I have them in a heavily trafficked hallway, where they're not snug to the wall (but rather more like a runner). It's sort of a drag :(

    1. Dear Prhansat, appreciate your efforts in bringing transparency in govt system…….but will it not be prejudicial to K&S if break up of attorney fees (local and foreign) is reveled to public…….after all it is confidential information of kns

  15. To answer lots of the questions (& as an interior designer): FLOR tiles can also be cleaned, air dried, then put back on the floor when they have a stain; they are more expensive but they are made from recycled content and FLOR is decreasing its company waste & emissions- one of the greenest companies out there; they JUST came out with stair treads! The newer dots are made to hold well together but also release for replacement. These will hold up to A LOT of wear! I have used them in my house in the basement over old vinyl tile & have TONS of great experiences with their commercial version too! Yay to FLOR tiles (parent company is Interface).

  16. I fell in love with a gold striped FLOR tile when I saw it in a photo, and I was looking for a rug for my living room at the time. Unfortunately it was discontinued. I'm definitely keeping FLOR in mind for a future need.

  17. I used the grass photo printed tiles for my nursery–just as a rug, not wall to wall. They have held up really well–no complaints.

  18. I love the flame stitch pattern, but can't find it on the FLOR site – is it still available? Do their patterns change often?!

  21. I have FLOR tiles in both my living room and dining room and am obsessed! I have Sophistikat in the living room and the Reoriented tiles in teal. Both rooms were an odd shape so the draw was how they could be cut to fit the room. Highly recommend!
