It’s Friday! I can’t remember the last time I slept in a little and I think tomorrow is going to be the day. I am welcoming this slower-paced weekend with open arms!
Grace has a birthday party on Saturday and then Sunday we’ll get together with some friends to watch the Super bowl and let our kids play. I think we ladies will try to squeeze in a little craft project in between the commercials. :)
I do have a house project on my to do list though. I bought these wall lamps last week and they just arrived in the mail. They look so great in real life! I especially love the star detail on the base.

The wall lamps will hopefully be hung this weekend. I’m going to have them flank this mirror that I bought at an antique store for $40.
The mirror and lamps will go above this tall vintage bookshelf (it’s about 50″), which is getting painted and trimmed out this weekend.
I bought a couple of pieces of this funky moulding at Michaels for about $2 each and they’re just right for the bookshelf I think.

Love everything about this post — the sconces are great. I found myself wondering (for my own personal use!) if it would be possible to dye the shades to a linen-y color. I've never tried before, but I love the shape of them!
I'm curious to see how the molding turns out – I've seen it at the craft store before, but always think about tweaks for furniture at the hardware store, not the craft store!

I can't believe this post. I just went this morning into our local hardware store, to find just this kind of moulding for a similar project – I just hadn't decided what I wanted to put it on yet. They only had the basic kind you used on skirting with horizontal grooves along the length.
How I wish we had Michaels in Australia. When I do manage to track down something more decorative, I'm pretty sure it wont be that cheap.

These are my favorite posts of yours for sure:) I have a feeling you may be one if the only other people to appreciate this, but my craft project for the weekend entails recovering my breakfast room chairs with waterproof fabric. The kicker is that the waterproof fabric is actually 2 shower curtains from Homegoods!

I'm going to be working on transforming a pair of vintage marble lamps from Ebay ($25) in a pair that resembles a style from Thomas O'Brien for Visual Comfort (for waaaay less)!

The wall lamps are beautiful- thanks for sharing! I've been looking for something similar to flank our flat screen- I'm thinking about adding some wallpaper or fabric trimmed out in moulding behind the tv like you suggested in Amy's "lofty living room"- love that idea. Hopefully I'll be painting our new (to me!) kitchen table and chairs this weekend… Can't wait to see your projects- who knew Michael's had such cool mouldings?!

coveting the bookshelf. we get to go look at our house today (for the second time ever-it is the inspection). I am going to take my measuring tape and a note book to list all the things that need to be done! I'm also on the hunt for a bookshelf. Do you have any white mountain places you have found things. craigslist is not so great here. i should hit up all the antique shops i guess.
We are FINALLY painting our living room. When we moved in, all the walls and ceilings were painted a sickening shade of yellow. Other than the guest bedroom, which we left yellow because it works in small doses, this is the LAST ROOM and ceiling we have to paint.
I've been testing shades of gray and found the one that works for us. Can't wait to see it all done!

My jaw dropped when I saw that mirror! I've had that exact same one since I was a girl — my parents picked it up at a garage sale for a song. I've been thinking about selling or painting it, but after seeing a photo of it looking so awesome I'm keeping it for when we finally redo our powder room. Thank you!!!

For some reason, your lovely wall lights remind me of something similar: Fontana contemporary 3-Lamp fixture from Sonneman. It's like these lamps are the black swan of wall lights.
