To enter to win the $500 gift card to The Home Depot (which will arrive with a great box of samples from Tide), just leave a comment on this post. I’d love to hear what projects you’d fund with the gift card. I actually picked up some supplies there this weekend and did a little faux bois treatment to my laundry folding station. I’m working on the tutorial photos now, so look for that post tomorrow probably.

  1. The Home Depot gift card would be used for our mudroom –to buy paint for walls and cabinets, update flooring (from in/outdoor carpet), and cover a naked light bulb.

  2. Our next big project is making over our laundry room (how appropriate!) so I would use the money towards that…paint, wood, lighting, etc!

  3. I _just_ bought a house, and I'm looking forward to the learning process of fixing it up to my style! I thought I'd end up with an old run-down home that I'd restore to its former glory (with my personality thrown in), but instead I'm faced with making the newer additions to the house feel more integrated with the original 1935 adorable-ness. First step: replacing the carpets with laminate! This gift card would help so much!

  4. i would absolutely put the money toward organizing my laundry room! I have a builder grade second story laundry room with wire shelving. It's so unorganized! I would put cabinets in and maybe a closet next to the washer and dryer. I would hang a drying wrack for our clothes, too instead of using our shower curtain rod in our bathroom. (which works too). My laundry room is driving me insane!

  5. OMG – I would LOVE a HD gift card! Oddly enough, I would use it for my laundry room! First project: the faux bois folding station! Can't wait to see the tutorial!

  6. Oooh, while my laundry room could use some work, I would probably use the gift card to fund my vegetable garden project- railroad ties, watering system, and plants of course!

  7. My husband and I are expecting our first baby, so with the $500 gift card, I would use it to help transform our guest room into the nursery!

  8. I would begin purchasing interior doors for our home as we have several that need replacing. Some have holes in them and many were cut on the bottom to accomodate a shag carpet which is no longer present.

  9. I would buy some pretty glass tiles I have been eyeing and do a back-splash in my kitchen. Also, we need new hoses for our yeard pretty badly, ha! Which seems kind of a silly thing to buy with a gift card now as I write it. :) Fun giveaway!

  10. The list is endless for what we could do with $500 — but I'm thinking it would be a great motivator to tackle a DIY project like our third-floor bathroom … new tiles, paint and some updated fixtures to make this bonus bathroom actually usuable!

  11. We're trying to renovate our small bathroom. Trying because we have a tight, tiny budget and it is slooowly coming together. With that beautiful $500 gift card we could be closer to finishing it. It could go for floor tile, a faucet, pedestal sink, lighting…it makes my mind spin!

  12. What a great offer!! There are so many things I would use the $500 towards! Too many projects to count! But the very first one would be towards us re-facing our kitchen cabinets!! Our kitchen is sooo dated and I'd love to give it a little facelift!! Thanks for the chance!!

  13. I would definitely use the gift card towards redoing our dining room into a playroom for our son. We needs lots of organization for all his toys!! Thanks

  14. There's so much I would do with a $500 gift card to Home Depot. I am moving in two weeks (Ahhhh!) so I will be doing tons of painting and hopefully adding an island to the kitchen, which a Home Depot gift card would really help out with!

  15. LOVE TO WIN!
I just bought a house back last year and I have lots of projects to personalize my house better! I especially want to try some of the products that are home depot specialties! Lighting is one of them!

  16. I think I'd pick up supplies for all the little projects that I've been putting off. Replacing the kitchen faucet, replace the guest bath & master closet light fixtures…the list goes on!

  17. 500 to home depo? i'm sure i could come up with something fun to do with it!! i'd probably help my mom with some renovations she needs on her home since i'm currently in between a home of my own and living with her!!

  18. I'd add slate floors to our mudroom to coordinate with the stained concrete stair treads we put in – they're golden retriever proof!

  19. Oh man! I just bought our very first house… a 100 yr old beauty with tons of projects to work on! This would go a long way. I would love to put it towards our master bathroom reno which we plan to take on all ourselves this winter!

  20. We are in the process of buying our first home (hopefully within the next year), this would help us personalize our house!

  21. I love that treatment you did on the laundry folding board — which I definitely need. With a $500 gift card from Home Depot, I would probably get a new washing machine and some cool linoleum (is there such a thing as cool linoleum?) for our laundry area….$500 probably will not cover it, but i sure would go a long way! I just came across your blog about a week ago and I loving it so far, Thanks!

  22. I would use the money to purchase some organizers for my house – I could really use some inexpensive open shelving for storage tubs.

  23. Oh my goodness the possibilities! I could apply it towards laminate flooring for my living room and kitchen or put up wainscoting in my kids' room and playroom, buy tile for my backsplash or bathroom, paint my kitchen cabinets…so much to do and this would be a huge help! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  24. I'd use the $500 to finally take the plunge and add a vanity with double-sinks to our bathroom. This is just the dent that would make the project feasible!
