To enter to win the $500 gift card to The Home Depot (which will arrive with a great box of samples from Tide), just leave a comment on this post. I’d love to hear what projects you’d fund with the gift card. I actually picked up some supplies there this weekend and did a little faux bois treatment to my laundry folding station. I’m working on the tutorial photos now, so look for that post tomorrow probably.

Thanks to The Home Depot and P&G for sponsoring this post series. And thank you for supporting the companies that collaborate with me on LGN posts. :)

  1. I've been thinking about this all day. I think I could do so much with $500. We have so many started projects.I'd finish painting the outside of the house first.

  2. Our backyard needs a lot of work: we need more dirt to prevent runoff, mulch, a ladder to prune the trees, a lattice for the climbing jasmine, a wooden fence to cover the hideous AC unit just outside the patio door. I would also rent a power washer from Home Depot to clean our moldy flagstone walkway. Help! Thanks so much!

  3. I would definitely use a 500$ Home Depot gift card for paints, new hardware for the kitchen, and maybe a small power sander so I can stop wearing my hands out!

  4. We have made many trips to The Home Depot recently because we are preparing our house to put on the market. Since we do not know where our next home will be yet, I would probably use the gift card on a new appliance.

  6. I can't wait to see your tutorial on the faux bois countertop! Impressive as always :) I would save the Home Depot money to spend on remodeling the home we hope to purchase in the next few months!

  7. well, in the not-exciting-bit – we'd fix our plumbing issues! Then maybe some new tile. I saw a commercial with some gorgeous mother-of-pearl tile!

  8. I need to PAINT!! So i would LOVE that gift card to start a painting project!! Also making some guitar hooks and kids bike stand!

  9. I don't have a house. YET. But I would keep the laundry detergeant and use half of the gift card to build my three year old a custom bed and suprise my sister with the other half because she is building her dream house right now! Love your blog it's so inspiring

  10. With $500 from Home Depot … I would love to start working on our Master Bedroom. Changing the paint color from dark to something lighter … and adding in a plank wall :)

  11. The next thing I want to do is buy some hinged plant hooks from HD to drape some bare bulbs from in our bedroom as reading lights. I'm going to wrap parts of the white cords in neon thread, and I'm thinking of switching out the regular bulbs for some vintage style incandescents (also from HD). It's gonna be dope.

  12. ooh, I would love to win the prize and remodel our very cookie-cutter AZ home! Our master bath needs some love, and I am dying for some new moulding and baseboards!

  13. First of all if I win it will be the biggest thing I've ever won in my life! I never win free stuff. All $500 would go towards the outdoor pergola my husband wants to build!

  14. I love your laundry room. You did a great job. Did you paint the hinges on your cabinets? Just wondering. I have a hundred things I would do….can't even begin to name them all.

  16. I would make a mudroom/ laundry room that you'll accommodate the long Alaskan winters, breakup and summer and the gear that goes along with it.

  17. I'm just a few weeks behind you. We received the keys to our new home today and are moving in on Saturday. The money would probably disappear at HD instantly (moving really does cause you to bleed money)–window coverings and trim to make our Billy's look built in comes to mind… but basically I just keep doing the same project as you a few weeks later. For instance, I will 100% be copying the faux bois folding table on top of the washer/dryer.

  18. WOW. I have so many projects I would use $500 on, my unfinished basement could use some serious help. Hope I win so I can get started. Thanks!
