To enter to win the $500 gift card to The Home Depot (which will arrive with a great box of samples from Tide), just leave a comment on this post. I’d love to hear what projects you’d fund with the gift card. I actually picked up some supplies there this weekend and did a little faux bois treatment to my laundry folding station. I’m working on the tutorial photos now, so look for that post tomorrow probably.

  1. I would love to win this! We are in the middle of replacing the walls in a small room in our house and I would love to put crown molding up!

  2. We just tiled our kitchen backsplash and installed under cabinet lighting. Now, we're moving onto a nursery for our first baby! Some of the gift card would be used for the nursery. We would also probably save some for a dying washer and dryer. We've gotten 7 good years out of a hand-me-down set, but I think they're on their way out! Thanks for the chance to enter!

  3. A $500 Home Depot card? After picking my jaw up off the floor, I would start by outfitting the lower kitchen cabinets with pull-out wire baskets, then finding some funky light fixtures to pretty up the ceilings in our dining room, above the kitchen workspace, and in the front hallway. Then I'd take whatever was left to paint our master bedroom a soothing, dreamy shade of blue. Thanks for asking!

  4. I would love to use the cement overlay technique from your laundry room on my kitchen counters! I have some very old aqua laminate that I just hate. I'd also love to paint the kitchen walls and cabinets, as well as remove some cabinet doors and replace drawer and cabinet pulls. Thanks, Jenny, for all your great ideas!

  5. Holy Moly, what wouldn't I do with a $500 gift card?! I'd do a thinset concrete treatment to my faux-bamboo laminate countertops in my kitchen, replace my laminate paneled dishwasher, create a folding station over my w/d in the laundry, buy some pendant kits to turn some cool baskets into lamps, my current to-do list is endless!

  6. I don't even know where I'd start with the gift card because there's so much to be done. Greenery outside would be a must, and some wood for my dad to build a wall of built-ins in our living room. I could go on, but I think that'd more than wipe out 500 bucks.

  7. I am planning on doing a mini kitchen remodel including painting my kitchen cabinets and a tile back slpash. Not sure yet what to do about my mauve countertops. Paint them maybe?

  8. Let's see, I would buy a new vanity to update my bathroom and paint. Or, something boring like shades for all my windows. Or wood to build a new kitchen table. The options are limitless!

  9. Extra bookcases and closet shelving units to redesign my office space into an infant's room. I have to transform my office into the existing closet space and leave the rest of the room for the babe due in October!!!

  11. Our bathroom sink just died….and the mismatched floor tile makes me cringe. We would use the money towards a much needed renovation!

  13. We're moving in a couple weeks, and this would be WONDERFUL! For things like paint, curtain rods, houseplants, etc…

  14. I would totally use it to finish painting our house!…. Three years after we moved in. :) And maybe get a dishwasher that's not a shade of green.

  15. There are so many projects that need my attention, but I think I'd put the $500 towards updating some of the light fixtures in our kitchen!

  16. I'm currently working on my 7 year old daughter's bedroom. I'd love a $500 Home Depot gift card to finish this room! I'm really excited to try my hand at making a tufted upholstered headboard like the project you blogged about. I've also been eyeing some gorgeous rugs at Home Depot for our entry area and hall. Honestly, I could think of a million projects where I could spent $500 at Home Depot…or more! Sometimes I spend my lunch hour at Home Depot just to get inspired or daydream.

  17. Our laundry room doesn't have windows, so I would love to replace the fluorescent light box with recessed lighting and then paint the walls to brighten the space. I have grass green storage containers in there so it would be fun to add more accessories to play on the color scheme.

  18. Trying to make my new cheap apartment look great on a budget! This place needs a lot of love and there are plenty of DIY projects that I'm copying off your blog. First up…buying a lot of paint to help with all my craigslist finds!

  19. I could think of a million projects that would benefit from a $500 Home Depot gift card! Sometimes I spend my lunch hour at Home Depot just to get inspired or daydream. I'm currently working on my daughter's bedroom and will be starting a tufted upholstered headboard using the instructions from this blog. I've also been eyeing some gorgeous rugs on display in the flooring department for our entry area and hall. Pick me :-)

  20. We just moved and I could do anyyyything with a home depot gift card! the projects and "needs" are endless. thanks for the opportunity!
