To enter to win the $500 gift card to The Home Depot (which will arrive with a great box of samples from Tide), just leave a comment on this post. I’d love to hear what projects you’d fund with the gift card. I actually picked up some supplies there this weekend and did a little faux bois treatment to my laundry folding station. I’m working on the tutorial photos now, so look for that post tomorrow probably.

  1. I'd love a gift card from the Home Depot to buy some energy efficient lighting for our 100 year old home. And if there is anything left over – Mums for our front porch. Fall is coming!

  2. I'd love a Home Depot gift card to buy some energy efficient lighting for our 100 yr old home. And if there is any money left, Mums for our front porch. Fall is coming!

  3. we just signed a contract on a beach house… I'm sure there's many things that we'll need it for, but I'd start with an indoor/outdoor sisal for the dining room!

  4. I would use it towards new floors in my foyer. That or convince my husband to finally get rid of our green laminate counters.

  5. I'd let my husband choose – but we have about 20 times this much to spend on the various projects left in our renovation of a 102-year-old craftsman in South Los Angeles. First up might be a new microwave and vent hood, the only major appliances left to finish off our kitchen gut job! :)

  6. We are FINALLY moving into a place with our own laundry, so this would be a perfect compliment! I would build shelves and a folding station that worked with its tight location

  7. There are so many options to choose from, so many projects…I think I would finally build that bed with drawers for our little Brooklyn apartment. Thanks for the contest!!!

  8. Would love $500 to my favorite store! I need to install a countertop over my washer and dryer, much like yours. Also, I'd love to add a sink to the area – I have three boys and it would sure be nice!

  9. I live in a rental right now, so a $500 card would be used for a few little things that we can take with us, and saved for the home we will hopefully be purchasing soon!

  10. With a $500 gift card from home depot I would work on built ins for all our books and maybe get a light fixture for the living room to replace the brooklyn boob lights

  11. With $500 to Home Depot, I could create a new corner shelving unit in my new, teeny-tiny apartment I just rented with my boyfriend. We need creative ways to use a small space, and the gift card would help our plans become reality!

  12. Wow I love what you did in your laundry room! I would probably do some DIYs with picture frames and mirrors to create a gallery wall. I've always loved that look and I've decided it's time to try it! Thank you for sharing!

  13. I am about to have a new baby, and I would use a Home Depot gift certificate partially to start building some shelves for the baby's room, as well as to get some paint to make it a little brighter. The rest I would use to finish my patio that I've been working on all summer!

  14. I would rehab my grandmother's cabinet that I inherited in the rustolem grey like you used in your former kitchen. I would also redo my linen closet with strips( loved that idea) and faux gold dry brush my bedroom walls!

  15. I could definitely use some window treatments and paint to spruce up our living room. And of course mulch, plants, etc. for the garden!

  16. Oh boy, so many projects here! Front door paint, garage door refurbishment, front step resurfacing, back patio redo, garden revamping–and that's before you walk inside the house! $500 would make a lot of difference to the curb appeal (or lack thereof). Thanks for the chance!

  17. I would do a makeover on my little half bath. It really needs updating. It even has ugly mustard and green wallpaper straight from the 80's. Not the cool 80's that's making a comeback but the bad, how did anyone even think this was ok, 80's.
