To enter to win the $500 gift card to The Home Depot (which will arrive with a great box of samples from Tide), just leave a comment on this post. I’d love to hear what projects you’d fund with the gift card. I actually picked up some supplies there this weekend and did a little faux bois treatment to my laundry folding station. I’m working on the tutorial photos now, so look for that post tomorrow probably.

  1. I have so many projects I'd like to do with the $500 gift card. I'm planning to build my own shelving system in my closet. I'm also planning to build a long desk/folding station in my basement laundry room. So many projects – so little time!

  2. I'd love to put 2" blinds in my bedrooms and make some crown molding happen too! I'd love to get a new porch light, and a million other things. Old houses need lots of love.

  3. The update list is oh so long. New carpeting in 2 bedrooms would be my "practical" purchase but grasscloth wallpaper would be my fun splurge!

  4. Oh my gosh, where to start? I would buy paint for walls and furniture, a couple new light fixtures, some mdf sheets to do the wall planking treatment like you did, maybe a new tool or two and if there was a little left after all that a pack of gum for my kids. ;)

  5. We're trying to buy a fixer-upper right now so I wouldn't even know where to begin with $500 from The Home Depot. I'd probably start in on the nursery since that seems like a safest place to begin decorating — new paint, light fixtures, a ceiling fan, drawer pulls, a comfy rug! I want it ALL.

  6. I'd put the money toward a re-do for the powder room. Need a new vanity and some fixtures! Or maybe just buy a lot of mulch for my sad, sad flower beds! ;)

  7. We don't really have a laundry room. Moved into a 1921 house that has a make shift bathroom in between the washer and the dryer. It's horrid. Would LOVE to use this to help fix our scary basement!

  8. If I had some extra money I'd definitely finish off my laundry room by adding chair rail and baseboard molding, something nice and chunky. Jo @ Let's Face the Music

  9. I have a closet that needs to function as both guest closet and storage for hand-me-down kid clothing. Thanks for the giveaway – I always enjoy reading your posts!

  10. Oh I SO need this gift card! We just bought our first home and I'm dying to add a carrara subway tile backsplash to the kitchen!-The topiary wallpaper just isn't cutting it! Thanks for the giveaway!

  11. Moving into my very first "grown-up" apartment after college. I'm going to graduate school and on a tight budget but I'm still dying to make my apartment as cute as I can with my small bank account. The $500 to Home Depot would help SO much!!!

  14. OMG! What would I do if I won a $500 gift card from the Home Depot? I would put it towards our big family room reno, (we're converting a garage that was converted poorly into living space by the previous owners into a fabulous living space). We'll need everything in there, drywall, light fixtures, new glass doors….it's fun to think about. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  15. Awesome give away! I would definately put the win towards a new backsplash in my kitchen! I need a pop of something against my all white cabinets!! :-)

  16. It's all about the kitchen right now. I have a surprise renovation going on right now and I'm sweating how to afford the details such as the pendant lights I think the room will need and I'd LOVE new doors for the laundry area. Those are one of those things that don't NEED to be replaced so I feel like I just need to get along but a little surprise mad money would totally go to getting new doors!

  17. $500 to home depot, it's like Christmas came early this year! There are a ton of projects to do in the house, it's hard to pick just one!

  18. This little gem of a laundry room keeps getting better and better! If I won the $500 Home Depot gift card I would definitely tackle several projects for my living room makeover: new shades for several windows, a new paint job (including chalkboard wall) and possibly a larger rug.

  19. I have my eye on a mirror at Home Depot. And some drawer pulls. And drop cloths for curtains. And new lanterns for the deck. And….well, you get the idea.
