We’ve been working on a client’s living room where a lot of the big pieces were neutral choices (the sofa, the rugs, the tables, the consoles, the lighting and mirrors – all neutral colors). In the first phase of the install we were all feeling good, but had to keep giving each other pep talks about how it would all look much better after the second more colorful layer goes on. :)
We’ve since added colorful pillows, art, lamps, and a great pair of side chairs inspired by this Jeffrey Bilhuber photo. Let me tell you – those chairs completely transformed my client’s room! (so excited to get this project photographed)

If you’re on a limited budget and can only change up parts of your living room, I would invest in some new pillows for your sofa (here are some color/pattern ideas) and a new chair or two. These are some easily available and affordable options:
Have you seen any fab accent chairs lately? I’m always on the hunt! They might be my favorite home item to shop for. Next to lamps. (And art.) (and pillows…)
I would change accent chairs like jewelry if I could! I love the french chairs you've shown here!
I could use 2 of #7 covered in a bright coloured fabric. Sounds like I am ordering at Mc Donalds! Wish it was that easy!
I bought some amazing cobalt blue chairs from a thrift store for $20 last year and I absolutely LOVE them!
(You can see them here if you'd like)

The blue chairs are stunning. Just the right pop of color needed. Love the art installation as well.
I am a total fan of using neutrals with a bold pop of color thrown in. In my own living room I have neutral colors, greens, creams and warm browns. What makes the room however is my bold rasberry velvet chair I picked up at Crate and Barrel a few years ago. LOL I had to sell husband on my "barney" pink chair but even he loves it now.Looking forwad to seeing the room you have just completed.

I have a pair of Original Dux Modern Chairs that need reupholstered, but they are in fantastic shape. I found reupholstered ones online for $3500.
I am trying to sell them, if you are interested…for way less than $3500! My email is thesunsetlane@gmail.com if you are interested!! :)
Thanks,
Kari
My house is also all in neutrals with bold pops and I love it. Orange sofa, yellow dresser, cobalt blue and kelly green chair. I'm a chair fanatic too and one of my all time favorites, although done and done again, is Anthro's Astrid chair. Perfect for a modern and traditional space, which I love to walk the tightrope on.
I don't have advice on a side chair, but wanted to say that this room ROCKS! I love the gallery wall of framed works on paper, it is a perfect backdrop.

I've been eying the eames rocker so I have nothing new to share!
Perfection!
I too am obsessed with accent chairs!! I recently got this one from Target http://www.target.com/p/avington-upholstered-accent-slipper-chair-multi-color-leaves/-/A-13831679#prodSlot=medium_1_6&term=avington%20accent%20chair
It's in my living room now and I love it!

My parents actually have chair no. 8 at home :)
And the picture wall in the first photo is awesome! I'll attempt something like if I ever manage to re-decorate.
I love accent chairs. I wish I had an extra room for just chairs that I could switch out whever I felt like it. Ha! Really looking forward to seeing more pictures of your home. That "teaser" picture of the kitchen the other day is killing me!
I've been drooling at these lime green button tufted beauties lately:

My mom has a similar pair–more elongated but similar shape–that she would part with, but I just don't have the space in my tiny house!
My obsession: chairs, lamps, and mirrors. Like all your chair picks. Glad to see you are back and well.
Lovely, love chairs
Ahh fabulous chairs! I am really considering getting that bird/floral one from overstock. Also love that light blue one from CB2.
