Zinc Table

If we get this new place, for the first time in many years we will have a house with private outdoor space. Hallelujah! It’s not huge a huge garden, but it just enough room for the kids to run around and for an outdoor dining/bbq area. It’s taking just about every ounce of self control…

It’s taking just about every ounce of self control I have to not buy this zinc table for the deck. I really love it.

There are going to be so many big purchases for the move, I’ll have to do some prioritizing. So I guess we’ll hold out for a little while longer (and hope that it goes on sale in the meantime?). I am going to check out some vintage Bertoia chairs from craigslist tomorrow though. Wouldn’t these make a pretty amazing pair with the zinc table? If the finish is bad, there might be some spray paint action up in here.

And while we’re at it I’d like a few strands of these classic string lights. These more modern string lights are cool too.

Have you seen any great outdoor furniture or accessories this year? I’m so excited about having a yard again, I can hardly stand it.

  1. Did you see the pint-size bertoias on Zulily yesterday? A pair for $129 – not too terrible. I wanted the white ones so bad, but was slow-pokey on it, and they sold out. :(

  2. ooo – so exciting. Can't wait to see your space. that table is heaven! and I love the lights. It will be so pretty!

  3. Jenny I adore that table, did you say where it is from? The chairs are fab and the lighting, I have not seen those strings yet!

I have a feature Interview on my site with Tina from The Enchanted Home…

  4. Very exciting! I too crave outdoor space, being cooped up in a tiny Manhattan apartment. Will you be staying in Manhattan?

  5. That is so exciting!! The current apartment I'm in on the UES has an awesome terrace (about 4' x 25' with plenty of space for our grill, chairs, table, and my husband's obnoxiously huge cooler). We've realized after being spoiled in this space for the past two years that our next move will likely have to be outside of the city because we can't imagine going back to not having outdoor space. Fingers crossed for you that all goes well the pending move!

  6. I've been pinning outdoor spaces for days. We are currently re-building our deck as it sagged quite badly from the weight of our hot tub. I am going crazy looking for new patio furniture at an affordable price that's not super tacky. If I see one more glass and aluminum table with plastic, fly-away-in-the-wind chairs I'm going to scream. Thanks for the inspiration. I'm going to raid my local stores and see if I can find some stringed lights like that. They are so chic.

  7. I've been wanting some little, round (or big, round!) boxwoods planted in planters a bit too small – love the chair table combo and having a place to be outside is great for everyone's peace of mind!

  8. Just a warning: have you ever sat in the Bertoias? I think they're super uncomf. Also, they leave a Belgian waffle print on your legs, if you're wearing shorts. I agree that they're super stylish, though! :)

  9. Overstock has knock-off Marais chairs. They carry white ones which would match the contrast that you are trying to achieve.
I got 4 for 175! that is a great deal.

    I blogged about it here:

I love that table! I have been searching craigslist for an outdoor table that doesn't break the bank and is stylish no luck yet.

  10. That table is pretty fantastic, but I sympathize with needing to prioritize before a move. There is so much I want to do with our new home – so many expenses! And of course I want it all done…now. So yes, priorities and patience: )

  11. Hi Jenny!
Your cleaning schedule is amazing. Seriously. I love it. Thanks for sharing it. I've been so overwhelmed with housework that I considered going back to work and hiring a cleaning lady. Thanks to you, I finally have it under control and I can enjoy my time with my two beautiful kiddos.

I made your schedule into a checklist. I added a load of laundry per day, but I kept the rest the same. I hope you get some use out of it!

  12. I love that table as well. I am almost sure I pinned it a few months back, but like you, I hope for a great sale on it.

  13. Love that table — I had my heart set on buying that for my porch, too, but sadly, the size doesn't work for me. I wanted to pair it with indoor/outdoor Panton chairs. Oh well. Hope you get it and enjoy it. It's on sale now, too!
