[Get it? Mini. Because I was shopping for dollhouse furniture. I’m hilarious on Fridays.]
While I haven’t had much time to dedicate to fixing up the dollhouse yet, I’ve been keeping my eye out for great deals on vintage dollhouse furniture on etsy and eBay. I’ve been trying to buy only wood pieces, but those Petite Princess pieces are just too cute to pass up, so I nabbed a few favorites from that line to round things out. Want to see what I’ve got so far?
Brass bed!? You know it!
Either the chairs or the sofa (or both) will get reupholstered.
Look at those teeny tiny little pulls!
For the foot of my brass bed. You know I love my florals, but this bench is crying out for stripes.
Pink phone for the desk probably
Every room needs a mirror!
I got this WHOLE LOT for $5! Check out all the brass pieces.
Including a brass high chair? Not so comfortable for baby, but very chic looking.
Pretty secretary and a demilune.
Yup, that’s a zebra hook rug.
I’m sure, like in real life, I’m mess with most of these and paint or reupholster, but I think it’s a good start. I’d love to DIY most everything else going into the house. I spent about $100-$150 on all these pieces, which is about what I planned for. The goal is to have the finished dollhouse, including a custom (rotating!) stand, ready to give to the girls on Christmas. They’re going to help with the actual house repair projects, but everything else will be a surprise.
Who else joined in on the challenge? I’d love to see what you’re up to!
Not only is this a super fun project (I can't wait to see the final dollhouse) but your girls are like the luckiest girls everrrrr!!!! Great finds, the rug is my favorite!
I didn´t know there was such a big variety of furniture for doll´s houses. I´m sure you will have lots of fun "renovating" it.
I am so excited to see all of the different projects that come out of this challenge and I wish I had an excuse to participate myself! All the furniture you found is amazing – can't wait to see how it looks in the house!
OK, not only are you the Queen of shopping second-hand for regular furniture….you figured out how to score second-hand on the mini market! Do you have more than 24 hours in your day?
those are adorable! I see a few pieces in that lot that could be transformed with a coat of spray paint! Good luck!
What fun! I have boys so no doll houses here, but I have hope that someday there'll be a granddaughter and I'll be able to go hog wild. Love that tiny hooked zebra rug! Thanks for sharing.
This is beyond cool ~ I adore the little tiny furniture for doll houses, and these are some real gems! This seriously got me excited to have children (hopefully girls!) and do this kind of project with them. I mean, a zebra hooked rug? Phenomenal!
I haven't joined in on the challenge but I am in the midst of renovating a dollhouse I found on Craigs List. I have the white chest of drawers in the Petite Princess line. This will date me, but I remember these being offered by Ideal when I was a young girl. Oh, how I wanted them! I scored the chest in an antique store about a year ago.
EEEEK! I love everything! It's all so adorable and so your style. I can't wait to see it miniaturized.
OH, my gosh. I had no idea such chic dollhouse furniture existed! I can feel a new obsession coming on …
I cannot wait to see the stripes on the bench. Great finds! I am doing the dollhouse challenge too. I finally have interior paint and a first try at the entry way. Mini rugs have been a lifesaver! Here's today's update: http://www.gohausgo.com/2011/10/im-a-giant-paint-and-entry-way/
I still have everything to do except I did buy an awesome little china hutch. But I still have to put mine together. Man you have awesome stuff. What a great ebay store. I'm going to have to get a few things. I did a mini update…it's a little sad though! I cannot wait to see yours! I can't show yours to my little girl or she might be jealous :)

Oh I have been waiting for this post. I started a dollhouse back in december. Then this little challenge came along and I am on borad with finishing the interior by december. I made my own bear rug, a wiglle chair, reupholstered a camel-back sofa and pretty much diy/rehabed everything so far. here is my progress (scroll all the way down to see beginning):

A lot of things that you have bought I am currently bidding on :) Love ya Jenny!
I am dead from jealousy! I have a boy, but still wanted to make a dollhouse, so I'm making a wizard's house: http://dashislittle.blogspot.com/2011/10/yes-crazy-no-way-around-it.html
I still get to play with fun teensy things, but no princess stuff for me. Boo.
This is going to be spectacular!!!
Great stuff you have found. It is going to be amazing, without question. I think the rotating stand is brilliant.
Oh how adorable and I am excited to see them when you get them "renovated"!!
That living room suite is EXACTLY the one that was in my childhood dollhouse, a big Victorian that my father built for me. The furniture was mostly boughten, but my mother made me a "bearskin" rug with a little red tongue sticking out….
At the time I was too young to fully appreciate the time and effort my parents put into making that house for me, but I loved it dearly.
Such memories. My grandfather built me a dollhouse when I was a kid. My mom loved it so much she opened up a store specializing in the furniture.
oh my. oooooh my. i have an empty dollhouse my dad and i built when i was 12. i can't believe all the awesome vintage stuff you scored! i totally want to finish mine now! but i think i'll wait and learn from you giants first.
I had those red pieces! I still have them! I had a dollhouse from Sears, and I am 100% sure that's where the furniture came from, too. The red bench went with a white grand piano.
Oh, that pink phone! Swoon!
super excited to see what you do! i'm sure it will be absolutely amazing, like everything that you do!
and way to go on your ebay steal!
mine is taking a lot longer than planned, but it is SO MUCH FUN!!!!
