I like that these botanical silhouettes are painted on brown paper – it has a warmer feel to it than white would.

These would be a pretty easy DIY with some kraft paper and black acrylic paint. I would get the largest IKEA frame available, ditch the mat and cut the kraft paper about an inch shorter than the frame on all sides. You’ll be able to see the edges of the paper, which will look really modern.

This is a wonderful idea, Jenny! I too have lots of kraft paper (which I mainly use for wrapping Christmas presents) and this is a smart new use for it. Also, is the second picture really from Better Homes and Gardens? I'm so impressed with their spreads recently…they've definitely upped their game!

Genius! I just received a huge sheet of marbled paper from Paper Mojo to frame (as suggested in another of your posts) and it came rolled up in a huge sheet of kraft paper, so I can now try this idea as well. Love your blog so much, found through Cup of Jo and Design Scouting.

Another great idea—thank you! I have been really into "paper-cutting" lately, so I'm thinking instead of painting the design on the paper, I might freehand it out of black paper and then mount it on the kraft paper. I love this as the look-for-less! Thanks for sharing!
I'm a sucker for a silhouette, esp. super-old ones from local silhouettists in our area. But those would freshen up my collection without looking too discordant- thanks for sharing! Anything on Kraft paper rocks.
