Marianne from Haven and Home posted this image from Coastal Living recently, and I’m obsessed with a number of elements including but not limited to:
1) The great color on the ceiling. That light fixture is pretty killer too.
2) The mahogany counters that are sealed in glossy shellac. NICE.
3) And most of all, the faux bois floors (obviously). You can get a similar look with this 5″ wood grain painting rocker (or the rollers might work well, too). I would probably put this fun treatment in a kids bathroom, a mudroom or a laundry room. Note that the paint colors are black and white. Such a graphic touch!
oh my goodness…I think my heart just melted. Those floors are nothing short of amazing!
i think i kinda love those floors.
but in the right setting i suppose. thanks for sharing!
I love those floors!!! I think the mudroom would be the perfect place. Or a screened in back room.
What a unique idea! A bit off topic, but the dresser in the shot is gorgeous!
I've had those counters, and let me confess- NEVER AGAIN. No amount of sealing can prevent you from freaking out everytime someone puts down a glass of water. Yes, they do make boats out of wood, but sailors don't need to use coasters. No one's looking for ring spots on a boat.
Those floors are amazing!!!!
such a fun space!
I'm so glad you posted this pic!!! I have inherited a 5' ship and haven't quite committed to having it in my home…but this one is fabulous!!
love the whole room; the dresser in the corner and light fixture add such interest to what is always such a functional room. fun!
Hello! Love this blog! Great ideas beautiful pictures! Please visit my friend and I's blog for a little surprise nestingnewbies.blogspot.com
Wow! That floor is amazing!!
Ohhh! Very pretty and unexpected. Maybe as a less permanent alternative, I'll paint over a rug in faux bois.
I love that its unexpected and different! It makes me want to use faux bois on a table top or somewhere fun just to bring a little bit it into my house:)
This is such an amazing floor!
Very unique! I have never seen anything like it!
i love it too. where do you think the yellow tray is from? love everything on the counter. and the floor….j'adore.
Those floors are so unique and gives you the chance to be very creative as well, I've never seen something like that before. Lovely kitchen, all the decor details are so interesting! Thanks for sharing :)
WOW, this is a wonderful kitchen! I love the unexpected colors coming from the great yellow tray on the counter and the glassware inside the shelving. What an inspiring space. Thanks for sharing. xoxo
I absolutely love painted ceilings with the paneling. House Beautiful that featured a blue bedroom with the same colored paneling on the walls as on the celling. It was so gorgeous.
what funny timing! i love these floors, i'm working on a project with bookcases and this technique, i'm loving the results so far.
Could this kitchen belong to Bill Diamond in his East Hampton home?
wow! such a gorgeous place! the floors pop!
Actually, I think I have seen those floors on Design by 9 television show. I believe it is a product of an artist that is made and installed, not a paint treatment. I think Kourtney and Bob Novogratz used it on the outside of their new home in the West Village on the first season? Does any one else remember this or know anything about it?
Does anyone know what the product is on the floors? I think I have seen it used on Nine By Design by Kourtney and Bob Novogratz. They used it on the outside of the home they built in NYC on season 1. It was a product made by an artist. I would love to know more about it. If this is not the same artist…..it is very similar to what I saw on the show.
