But really, who honestly doesn’t love an excuse to give sweet presents and throw parties and spend time with loved ones and decorate their homes with pretty things? AND NEED I MENTION THE FOOD.

I love decorating for the holidays so much that I have a couple of shelves of magazines that are holiday-only. It’s such a treat to dig them out every November and rediscover a few of my old favorites (most are Domino or MS Living/Blueprint (RIP)). And every year I make a special trip to my local bookstore to comb through the special issues to see if there’s anything I’d like to add to my holiday collection. (#print4ever)

 photo floral OKL LGN.jpg

This Style Your Season magazine was released from One King’s Lane (which means there are no external ads and hardly any text – just one amazing editorial photo after another). It’s really, really good.

 photo LGN OKL Mag.jpg

It’s full of all kinds of amazing floral shots and tips for decorating for the holidays in thoughtful, easy ways. Like the idea of arranging your most favorite ornaments in a pretty bowl for your entry console or coffee table. This is a GREAT idea for those of us with multiple sets of Christmas ornaments. I have a dwindling set of antique mercury glass ornaments (a few have shattered each year – sob!) and I think I’m going to set them out in a vintage bowl tonight. We’re going with a more restrained tree this year (who even am I?), so a pop of color on our coffee table will be welcome!

 photo EPSON007.jpg

There are some really great interiors shots in the magazine too – it’s not all Christmas all the time. This guest bedroom set up is so fresh. I’m really loving that canopy! I’d love to do something just like this in Claire’s room – pretty ribbon trim and all.

 photo EPSON006.jpg

Here’s another amazing guest room. I was looking at the issue with my sister, Ali, and we’re thinking this image will be the inspiration for her bedroom redo that we’re hoping to tackle sometime soon. Soft but not boring!

 photo EPSON005.jpg

And you know how much I love a great upholstered-wall linens closet. I have a client that wants something just like this for her linen closet and I can’t wait to show you the project!

 photo EPSON004.jpg

Pretty stuff, right? I restrained myself and only posted a few of my favorite scans. The whole issue is a goldmine of glossy-paged inspiration. Have you seen any other not-to-be-missed holiday mags I should add to my collection?

I love having these special gifts scattered around the house. They’re little reminders of the holidays, vacations and people that I love the most! Michael gave me the large Italian floor mirror for Christmas a couple of years ago and it was such a surprise. I LOVE it.
 photo IMG_0313.jpg
My mom gave me this Russian silver filagree bowl a few years ago and we use it for holding guitar picks on the piano. It’s so delicate and such a unique piece.

I have a couple of really special pottery pieces that I love to keep out too.

My family has helped me grow my art glass paper weight collection over the years too. My great grandma collected these and they always remind me of her.

This little antique wooden obelisque was a gift from a dear friend, just because. Isn’t it pretty? I love having it out on the cerused secretary.

Are you a Chairish shopper like I am? I use their app and website all the time for client work especially (I’ve been scouring it for this client!). It’s such an easy way to find well-curated items at really fair prices.

My friends at Chairish invited me to curate a list of my favorite items (most are under $200!) that would be great for the gift-giving season. Check out my (huge) list here! I would love to get any of these for Christmas. (Hint-hint, Michael!)

New at IKEA!

Have you seen the new IKEA line called Sinnerlig? It was a collaboration with British designer Ilse Crawford and it’s super beautiful. Gorgeous, organic glass and stoneware, baskets and pretty textiles, as well as a couple of great furniture pieces. My very favorite piece (which apparently is only available in stores right now) is this steel, acacia wood daybed. Isn’t that jute webbing amazing? It’s like all the best things about midcentury design in one beautiful (and super affordable) piece.

I’m so inspired by the jute webbing. I have this old bench that I got on the cheap at a thrift store and it’s still sitting in storage because the caning is ripped on the seat. I bet I could do something cool here with this webbing idea!

 photo IMG_8987.jpg

PS There are a couple of new rugs in the 2016 line that aren’t a part of the Sinnerlig line, but they’re still really great!

They’re all between 5×8′ and 8×10′ which is already a pretty great size, but if you need a bigger size, why not try this idea?

It is such a huge challenge to incorporate a TV into a room without it making too much of a statement! In past homes, I’ve had good luck with hanging a gallery wall around the TV. This was the stair wall in our brownstone. Hanging art all around our TV, especially a couple of bigger art pieces that were similar in size, really helped it to fit into the gallery wall.

 photo ac1e7f4b27f8276afb58a66136c4f9f2.jpg
In our current home, we had our carpenter build a nook for the TV into the fireplace surround, which I painted black. I think it really helps to camouflage it when it’s not on!
 photo IMG_4568.jpg

Recently I had to snap some photos of this great idea I saw in my husband’s office building. I thought this beautiful frame was such a clever way to conceal the sides of the TV and the wiring.

 photo IMG_2385 1.jpg
 photo IMG_2390 1.jpg
And here are a few more of my favorite solutions. Most of these require some “building in” the way that my fireplace solution did, but check out what a difference it makes! All of these rooms look amazing, despite the big TVs!

Mini DIYs: Toy Animal Hooks and Agate Drawer Pulls (and a Give Away!!)

Have you guys heard of Sugru before? It is a moldable glue that sticks to pretty much anything and cures just by exposing it to the air! It’s as easy to use as playdough or air-dry clay before it curies, and turns into flexible rubber overnight.

 photo 19.jpg

It’s a DIYer’s dream because you can fix, make or improve basically anything with Sugru. They have just launched two new kits that make home hacks easy and fun. The Sugru Starter Kit comes with a mini-booklet of ten cool home hacks, along with five packs of Sugru in a cute little tin. (a cute gift idea!)

 photo The Sugru Kit.jpg

The Sugru Kit Guide, comes with five packs of Sugru, the same mini-booklet and tin, plus all the accessories you need to complete the ten hacks!

 photo 27 copy.jpg

I tried a few of the projects from their guide around our house over the weekend. I made some little hooks for Evie’s room using Sugru to attach plastic toy animals to the side of her bookshelf.

 photo 26 copy.jpg
 photo 18.jpg
 photo 21.jpg
It’s so easy to do – you just put a good-sized ball of Sugru on the toy animal feet and press them firmly on to the surface you want to attach them, and then just tape the toy in place on the wall while the Sugru cures overnight.
 photo 22.jpg
Super cute, right? Evie was ALL about them!
 photo 25.jpg
I loved this idea from the Kit to make hooks with Sugru in my kitchen by my range to hold my phone so I can listen to music or podcasts and reference online recipes while I cook without getting my phone dirty. Sugru bonds great to brick and ceramics, so you won’t need a drill!
 photo 6.jpg
 photo 10.jpg
 photo 9.jpg
I love that you can repair broken low-voltage USB charger cords (under 24 volts) with Sugru! We had quite a few of these that needed to be fixed. :)
 photo 16.jpg
 photo 15.jpg
You can do it a little thinner than I did, but I liked the idea of building in a little handle to pull making it easier to use.
 photo 17.jpg
Probably my favorite Sugru project that we tried was making these one-of-a-kind pulls using screws and agate slices.
 photo 3.jpg
 photo 4.jpg
The trick is to find screws with a flat top and a nut for tightening on the back of your drawer and use Sugru to attach them to the agate slices. Sugru is great for sticking to awkward surfaces, like these super glossy pieces of polished stone!
 photo 5.jpg
Claire was really loving these pulls so I’m thinking these new pulls might have to make their way to her nightstands!
 photo 2.jpg
 photo 1.jpg

There are a million ways to use this cool product! And great news – Sugru is giving away Sugru Kits to four readers today! And one of those winners will also get a $100 Amazon voucher. Just check out the Sugru site and pick your favorite project and leave a comment here. (Open to readers world-wide!). The winners will emailed next week. Good luck!

And thank you to Sugru for sponsoring this post!

Carnations? (Yeah, Carnations!)

Carnations aren’t usually my first choice, but lately they’ve been my go-to flower. They’re SO cheap!! And they can be so pretty when they’re bunched together in the right way. The trick is all in how you cut the stems! I got three bunches of pink carnations for just $12 at my local grocery store…

Carnations aren’t usually my first choice, but lately they’ve been my go-to flower. They’re SO cheap!! And they can be so pretty when they’re bunched together in the right way. The trick is all in how you cut the stems!
 photo IMG_2823.jpg
I got three bunches of pink carnations for just $12 at my local grocery store (Fry’s Marketplace always has a ton of great options). Can’t beat that, especially considering they last for several weeks!
 photo IMG_4044.jpg
You’ll want to use a bowl that has a wide mouth and is only about 5-8″ tall. And definitely use the floral preservative too!
 photo IMG_4042.jpg

Here’s the secret to getting carnations to look like a more expensive flower: Using a sharp pair of scissors, cut off one individual bloom at a time, right at the base of the stem. If you just cut down the main stem and leave the blooms so staggered and far away from each other, they’ll always just look like lame carnations. Cutting them down individually and bunching them up tricks the eye!

 photo IMG_4086.jpg

Once you’ve cut them down, make a big pile of the blooms.

 photo IMG_4050.jpg

Bunch them together with all of the petals right up next to each other. And then trim the stems so that everything is the same length (whatever length works best with your vase).

 photo IMG_4061.jpg

You’ll be left with big bunches of blooms that end up looking more like peonies and less like straggly carnations!

 photo IMG_4109.jpg

Once you have them all bunched in your vase, just fluff up the flowers that have sunk down. I also like to pull out some of the little green buds. I think they help to break things up.

 photo IMG_4122.jpg
 photo IMG_2350.jpg

Pretty, right? If I change the water every few days, I can get these carnations to last two or three weeks! Do you have any good tips for getting grocery store flowers to stay fresh? (PS Here’s another one of my favorite grocery store flower tips!)

Working on Gracie’s Room

We have a big group of guests coming to stay with us over the holidays and I’ve been hustling to get our girls bedrooms more finished/comfortable in time. I actually sort of love having an excuse to get house projects done! Gracie’s bedroom needed the most help and I feel like we’ve made some good headway this month.

 photo IMG_2501 copy.jpg
 photo IMG_2507.jpg

I had my upholsterer recover this old headboard in a pretty light blue velvet that I bought at a local fabric discount store called Boca Bargoons (awesome name, right?). The frame is queen-sized though and Grace has been sleeping on a super old full-sized mattress that didn’t have any support.

 photo IMG_6999.jpg

We ended up getting another Leesa mattress for her bed because we’ve loved the one in our master bedroom so much. And let’s be honest, the convenience factor was a big one! The mattress ships (free!) to your doorstep (in a much smaller box than you’re expecting) and then you unpack it on your bed frame and watch it grow to full size in about five minutes. It’s crazy easy!

 photo IMG_2417 copy.jpg
 photo IMG_2430 copy.jpg

Their mattresses are 10″ tall and made of three layers of unique foam, including memory foam and another type of foam that’s perforated to keep your mattress nice and cool. (IMPORTANT when you live in the desert like we do!). Isn’t the mattress itself so pretty? Seems like a shame to cover it up with bedding. :)

 photo IMG_2453.jpg

We’ve had our Leesa mattress in our master for about four or five months now and I have to say that I really, really love it (just like these 1500 reviewers). It’s the perfect combo of soft and supportive. I don’t have the best back – mine goes out all the time – and I feel like this mattress has made a world of difference for me! I’ve been feeling great lately.

 photo IMG_2467 copy.jpg

My Grace has the sweetest heart – she loves it as much as I do that Leesa donates a mattress to a shelter for every ten sold. When I told her that she said “Well now I’ll really sleep better at night!” Ha!! Kids are the best.

 photo IMG_2497 copy.jpg
 photo IMG_2526 copy.jpg

Between the amazing new mattress and bed frame, we’re both feeling pretty great about her room situation! Isn’t that blue velvet so pretty? We also put up some new art from Kristi Kohut in her room that pairs so well with it! On the other side of the room we hung an old French poster above a vintage dresser I bought off Craigslist and painted. We’re getting close in here!
 photo IMG_2569 copy.jpg
 photo IMG_2628 copy.jpg
Kids rooms are my absolute favorite to decorate! It’s so fun to get crazy with color and pattern – and I love a space with no rules. :)

This post is sponsored by Leesa. The first 50 readers to redeem the promo code LGN75 at checkout get $75 off their order! Stressed about ordering a mattress sight-unseen? Don’t be! Leesa has a 100-day risk-free trial period!

I think it’s high time for a old school style brain-dump post! Here are a bunch of random things on my mind lately:

1) We’re hiring! I’m looking for another designer to join our team based in my studio in Mesa, AZ. We especially need more helpers that know CAD and the Adobe suite. Please apply! We’re a fun bunch and we’ve got a ton of exciting projects on the books right now and we need all the help we can get!

 photo HIRING.jpg

2) Because we’re growing so fast, I’m considering moving my office out of my house this year. It is so convenient to work from home, especially with the baby, but it’s also hard to shut it down, you know? Also, I’ve always dreamed of a retail shop. One of my girls, Megan, used to work for a cool design firm in a beautiful building that had a retail shop downstairs and their design offices upstairs, which always seemed pretty perfect to me. They’ve since moved and Megan works for me now (and Camelback Flowershop is in the space), but I think the concept is a great one that works well for a lot of design teams.

 photo IMG_1953.jpg
(pretty Megan!)
 photo IMG_3065.jpg
(pretty Camelback Flowershop!)

I’ve been poking around, looking for cool places downtown to fix up. We’ll see if anything comes of it, but it sure has been fun to be on the hunt and to dream! All of the spaces I can afford right now need a ton of work, like former banks (with vaults!) and transmission shops (!?), but they all have some decent potential. :)

3) Craigslist is still loving Kayla. She found this BEAUT of a sofa for us that just needs some upholstery love. Can you even handle the lines and those legs??

 photo IMG_3931.jpg

 photo 00y0y_8oInrstyyZi_600x450.jpg

4) I’m obsessed with this over-sized subway tile we’re using in a local client’s master bathroom. Wait til you see the satin brass fixtures! Hubba-hubba!

 photo IMG_2838.jpg

5) My parents sure have a pretty drive way.  I’m so glad I can drive up to visit them and get a little taste of the seasons!

 photo IMG_4201.jpg
6) Check out these amazing semi-flush sputnik chandies that just got installed in my client’s new closet. Lucent Lightshop (a local company that I LOVE and use all the time) came through for us yet again! So good, right?

 photo IMG_3339.jpg
 photo IMG_3342.jpg

7) Margot is crawling like a champ and her latest trick is the most adorable clap you’ve ever seen. If anyone in the room says “Yay!” she immediately starts clapping with fervor! Her tiny, chubbiest little hands kill me.

 photo IMG_3759.jpg

She’s also really getting into books. She makes the highest pitch squeal whenever I put this Richard Scarry book in front of her. She LOVES the giant cat page and kisses it over and over again. It’s like she is breaking my heart on purpose.

 photo IMG_3770.jpg
8) We call Margot “Bunny” a lot so I immediately wanted a print of this bunny art as seen on the Dwell Studio site. Anyone know the artist?

 photo Screen Shot 2015-10-27 at 12.57.32 AM.png

 photo Screen Shot 2015-04-23 at 2.08.32 PM.png
9) My doctor’s office had a super old issue of Lucky in the waiting room and it was such a treat to revisit this great article on Claiborne Swanson Frank. What a gorgeous photo, start to finish!
 photo IMG_8151.jpg

9) I’ve wanted a bluetooth Tivoli radio forever and I finally bit the bullet recently and I have to say, it is everything I dreamed it would be, and more! We use it in the studio to listen to podcasts and all sorts of random music (and I mean RANDOM – everything from Dixie Chicks to Kanye to Fleetwood Mac) and the sound quality is amazing. And it looks so pretty sitting out, so, you know, win-win. :)

 photo IMG_3119.jpg
End of brain dump! It feels good to catch you up. Life is good. Though I feel generally like it is all going by way too fast (how’s that for sounding OLD?!).

One of the hardest things about living in Phoenix is we don’t really get to experience the seasons in the same way most of the country does! But the flip side is that October marks the beginning of about eight months of perfect weather here. We fling open our doors and windows and we eat out on the porch from now until May! As much as I miss fall foliage and the occasional snowfall, I feel like I can’t complain.

 photo LGN 3.jpg

It’s still fun to celebrate all the pretty parts of the seasons though! I teamed up with Pier 1 to decorate our back porch for a special fall dinner party. They have a ton of beautiful fall decor and entertaining pieces right now, so it was easy to get inspired. This woven napkin was the starting place for my color inspiration. I used a little bit of rosin paper and two different widths of painters tape to create a random, abstract pattern.

 photo IMG_3392.jpg
Then I painted over the paper and tape with Rose Gold metallic spray paint and then peeled away the layers of tape.
 photo IMG_3409.jpg
 photo IMG_3449.jpg

I love the tone-on-tone color happening here!
 photo 2LGN 1 copy.jpg

I think the white dinner plates (such a great basic to have handy!) really pop against the metallic rose gold. I served a yummy vegetable beef stew for this dinner party in the pretty gray bowls, which are the perfect size for such a hearty stew.

 photo LGN 11.jpg

We kept all the food inside, just a few steps away, so it would stay warm and protected, and this way I was able to keep the table freed up for a cool center piece.

 photo LGN 15.jpg

I picked up a few dollars worth of apples in different colors – from bright green to dark red and all the shades of apple in between.

 photo 2LGN 7 copy.jpg
It’s easy to keep these apple votives looking fresh for your party (and beyond) if you give them an apple cider vinegar bath before cutting into them. About half a cup for every couple of gallons of water in the sink is enough to help kill bacteria on the fruit’s surface. (This works great for pumpkins too!)

 photo IMG_2656.jpg
Once your apples have been cleaned, and about half an hour or an hour before your party, it’s time to get your apples ready. These little tealights are the perfect size to use for most apples.
 photo LGN 17.jpg
A melon baller is also just the right size for creating the space to make these votives. You just sort of press the edges of the melon baller in to the top of the apple to cut through the skin, and then scoop it out at just about an inch deep.
 photo LGN 18.jpg
You can use lemon juice or saltwater on the apples as a preservative to help prevent them from turning brown.
 photo 2LGN 2 copy.jpg
It’s a surprisingly quick and easy centerpiece! It takes about as much time as making a pretty flower arrangement.
 photo 2LGN 6.jpg
I arranged the apple votives by color, sort of ombre style, down the center of the table on top of three of these adorable wooden cake stands.
 photo 2LGN 10 copy.jpg
It was so fun to have the votives burning especially as it got darker into the evening. It was beautiful!
 photo LGN 9.jpg
 photo LGN 12.jpg

I love the simple wreath trend that happening right now – it’s such a modern twist to a really traditional look. And the bonus is their easier to make this way! Pier 1 has some really pretty silk plants in their fall line that I wanted to use for my sparse wreath to hang above our table.

 photo LGN 8.jpg

I used a length of grape vine as the ring of the wreath and then cut 12″ lengths of greenery and flowers to make the bottom portion.

 photo LGN 16.jpg

Like with any wreath-making project, you just have to layer and then wrap tightly with floral wire. It could not be easier!

 photo LGN 19.jpg
So simple and sweet, right? I feel like our house color (Benjamin Moore’s Desert Twilight) is the perfect backdrop for the fall colors in the wreath. :)
 photo LGN 5.jpg
 photo LGN 23.jpg
I had some extra flowers leftover from the wreath project, so I made little bouquets and tags for name cards. I think they look so pretty in the mix happening on the table!
 photo LGN 21.jpg
 photo LGN 22.jpg
And aren’t those hand-blown etched glass tumblers beautiful? I bought 12 because I needed some new everyday glasses, and these were a great price!
 photo 2LGN 14 copy.jpg
I love that a few extra projects can make a dinner party feel so special! I think any of these ideas would work so well for a grown-ups Thanksgiving table! And I’m hoping to make a few more wreaths to give to my mom and sisters. They’re so easy and pretty!

 photo LGN 4.jpg

And here are a few more fall goodies I spied at Pier 1 – so many on-trend items in brass, marble and warm woods! High fives, Pier 1

My wildest chair dreams came true! We’ve been on the hunt for a great pair of vintage chairs to recover for a client and one of my amazing girls, Kayla, stumbled on a listing for a pair of floral chairs and sent it right to me, thinking they’d be fun for the studio. Her Craigslist sleuthing skills are unreal!

 photo IMG_4193.jpg
 photo IMG_2261.jpg

Do these chairs look familiar at all? They’re custom green floral linen Le Corbusier chairs that I posted a photo of here. Barneys apparently had two made for every store location a couple years ago and now they’re changing things up. (Isn’t that mannequin hilarious?)

 photo IMG_3265 1.jpg

We called on the listing the second Kayla found it and sure enough it was a display person at Barneys that had listed the chairs. She said she’d had a ton of response to the listing and that the price had been bid up. She said the chairs were now $60 each. LOL, right? I was like, “Erm, yeah, that’s totally fine.”

I drove right over to Barneys and they showed me into a restaurant area on the top floor that had been closed for renovations. The chairs were there, along with a couple of rugs and display cases they were selling (nothing as great as these chairs though).

Honestly, it felt a little fishy at first, being whisked away into a closed section of the store to show me super underpriced Le Corbusier chairs! But they had an invoice from Barneys all ready for me and they ran my credit card instead of asking for cash, so I felt like everything was legit. :)

I still can’t believe our luck on this one! I’m SO happy with how these chairs look in the studio. They’re just the right size. And they’re green floral. And they were $60 – the price of a pair of socks at Barneys! COME ON! It’s all too good.

8 Tips for Nailing the Wood Tile Look

I do love the softer feel and warmth of real wood underfoot, but sometimes it really makes sense to use a wood tile instead. Because tile is completely waterproof and scratch resistant (I wish I could say the same for my wood floors we put in only two years ago…), it is a super smart option for homes built on concrete slabs and for pet owners. Also, since the tile can be installed in kitchens and bathrooms without worry, it’s a great option for more open concept homes. It’s nice to be able to install the wood tile everywhere without transitions.

I picked up these samples from my local Floor & Decor – they had two full rows of just wood tile options. Each of these are under $4.25/sq foot! Insane pricing!!

If you’re thinking of wood tile for your home, here are my best tips:

1) Choose a tile with a more subtle wood texture and a pattern made by an inkjet with a lot of pattern variation. Some of these tiles have as many as ten different pattern variations in each colorway.

2) Since there are pattern repeats, be sure to rotate the orientation of the tiles often to help break up the overall look. You don’t want to be able to spot the same pattern in one glance!

3) Choose a tile with a rectified edge rather than a pressed edge. You can get much tighter grout lines with tile that has more exact edges.

4) Wood-look tiles come in a few different forms – ceramic, porcelain and concrete. Porcelain is considered the best choice. It’s super hard-wearing and affordable.

5) When you’re choosing a grout color, find the darkest color in your tile and chose one shade deeper for your grout color. This tricks the eye into thinking that the grout lines are shadow around the “wood planks” especially if you have a rectified edge tile and really small grout lines.  Floor & Decor sells a great line of pre-mixed super stain-resistant grout that comes in a million different colors. It’s so easy to find a shade that works best!

6) Generally I like wood tile planks to be at least 40″ long, but 48″ or longer is ideal. The shorter planks can be a give away and make it harder to trick the eye into thinking the tile is actually wood.

7) If you’ve found a wood tile that you really love, but it only comes in 24 or 30″ planks, like many of them do, try a herringbone pattern with the shorter planks. The proportions will be just right!

8) Sometimes people think it’s a good idea to lay wood tile in a stacked, geometric tile pattern (like a running bond pattern), but that’s another give away that your flooring is not actually wood. Laying the tile in a very random order, just like real wood, helps trick the eye.

Those are my best tips for choosing a great wood tile! Do you have any to add? One of my friends is putting this tile in her house in a herringbone pattern and it is looking amazing! I’m thinking something similar would be great for my client’s home.

We’re wrapping up some client projects this month and next that I’m super excited to share with you! In two of the projects, we’ve gone with black soapstone for the countertops. I love the dramatic contrast of dark counters with light/white cabinetry!

I was going for a similar look with the black concrete counters we DIYed for our kitchen in an attempt to save some cash. The truth is though that soapstone is actually a pretty affordable countertop choice. It costs about the same as a standard granite option (about $75-100/sq ft installed) and it wears about as well as a granite too! When we change the layout of our kitchen some day, I’d love to install real soapstone.

I love that there is still some soft veining and movement in the stone. It’s not a solid or flecked black, which is the case with Jet Black granite. Soapstone also has a super high heat threshold (you can put hot pans right on the surface!) and it is scratch and stain resistant. Any little problems can usually be buffed right out using a little mineral oil (this one is my favorite for natural stone and butcher blocks). But I think the best thing about soapstone is the feel – that smooth, buttery surface!! There’s nothing like it.

Here’s a progress shot from a home we’re working on locally. This is from a couple of weeks ago – I’m so excited to share this space with you guys! It’s going to be beautiful! We’ve got some gorgeous satin brass plumbing fixtures going in that will look amazing against the black soapstone we installed on the perimeter cabinets!

And how great is the soapstone paired with the white marble on the island?! I feel like the black and white combo is so timeless! Even once we get all the finishes, lighting, hardware, rugs and accessories in here, I know the stone will still be the star of the show!

What’s your dream countertop material? Or what do you have now? The pro/con list for natural stone countertops is a long one, but I feel like soapstone is a pretty smart option!
