Happy Black Friday! Are you out there braving the crowds today? The holidays are here, ready or not. Surprisingly, I’m doing a pretty good job of chipping away at my shopping list on the early side this year. I’m hoping to mostly give handmade or vintage items to friends and family. I love your red door and black staircase. BUT I have to warn you about replacing your cool victorian exterior trim with the shingled columns – I think it will cheapen the look of your house. Shingled columns fall into the category I call "Builder's Special" – changes that are the most unimaginative and cheap. Perhaps consider painting your trim black, and your house a nice warm gray? Keep its awesome character!
