So many of you mentioned yesterday that you were dying to get your hands on the Fresh Paint app yourself. Well, here’s your chance! The Fresh Paint team provided me with a tablet with the Windows 8 software, a keyboard dock (making your tablet basically a fully functioning laptop), and a really cool stylus brush to give away so you can create your own masterpieces in Fresh Paint.

(one of my recent Fresh Paint creations – I’m loving this app!)

So to enter to win the tablet, keyboard and brush stylus, please leave a comment on this post, sharing what type of painting projects you’d try with the Fresh Paint app. Abstracts? Portraits? Hoping to import a photo in using the “wet paint” function? Feel free to link to inspiration images. We’d love to see!

***This just in! CanvasPop is throwing in a free 12×18 custom canvas print of your masterpiece as part of the give away. How’s that for sweetening the pot? :)

Contest ends Sunday May 5 at midnight. I’ve opened up the comments to allow for unregistered users. The winner will be emailed so please be sure to leave you email address if you’re not signed in. Good luck!

  1. I'd stick with abstracts, but I do love what you posted yesterday about uploading a photo and painting over it to create new art. So I might be brave enough to eventually try that!

  2. I've always wanted to learn to paint abstract and landscape paintings…but a blank canvas is so intimidating! But THIS would give me just the push I need. By the way, I'm obsessed with your blog! You're my inspiration for all things design!

  3. How exciting! I'd probably play with all aspects, but especially "doctoring" an imported picture. Thanks for the chance of winning!

  4. Oh my gosh I want to paint EVERYTHING! lol I'm in school for graphic design right now and this would be so fun to add things like this to my portfolio :)

  5. My art skills are typically leave something to be desired but I would love to import a picture or my grandmother and I on my wedding day and try the Fresh Paint app out!

  6. I would try everything, but I absolutely love what you did with the photograph. I have a photo of my great-grandmother that would (hopefully) be perfect!

  7. I would love to try to import old photos of my beloved family members like you did and hang those all over my house! Awesome, thank you!

  8. I would love to import a photo and use the "wet paint" function! I loved your portrait of your grandmother.

  9. I am an art teacher and would love to use this with students, especially those with special needs who are uncomfortable using real paint!

  10. OOh…I can't get over what you made!!! I've been dying to try my hand at painting, but have been a bit uneasy about starting. I have no idea what I'm doing! This would be AMAZING!!! For the house that we're currently renovating, I definitely want to add some art. I think the first thing I would try is a portrait of our Great Dane, Gracie. We love her so much and I've been dying to hang a portrait of her on the wall.

  11. I would like to say that I would attempt some great artistic masterpiece, but really I would probably use it to make portraits of my dog.

  12. I studied painting in college, and have just started getting back into painting now that my youngest is 5. I love to paint, but sometimes it really takes several hours to set up, paint and cleanup, and it always seems like there is never enough time.

I'd love the app as an easy way to test painting ideas, and also I would love to take some of my husband's dog portraits (he is a photographer) and make them into paintings!

  13. This app seems like so much fun! I would try different things, but I would especially like to import some old photos and play with them.

  14. I;ve recently started painting again after many years away from it. I'd love to see how this might spark my creativity!

  15. I'd love to do some fun abstracts and graphic, colorful prints along the lines of the Cozamia style! I also absolitely love your idea of using the wetpaint app for old photos – what an amazing way to give them some new life!

  16. This is wonderful. I would love to try the portraits, and my daughter would be great at the abstract. Thanks for sharing.

  17. I would love to import photos and try the wet paint application.

I have always wanted to experiment with paint–this seems like a good place to start :D
