So many of you mentioned yesterday that you were dying to get your hands on the Fresh Paint app yourself. Well, here’s your chance! The Fresh Paint team provided me with a tablet with the Windows 8 software, a keyboard dock (making your tablet basically a fully functioning laptop), and a really cool stylus brush to give away so you can create your own masterpieces in Fresh Paint.

(one of my recent Fresh Paint creations – I’m loving this app!)

So to enter to win the tablet, keyboard and brush stylus, please leave a comment on this post, sharing what type of painting projects you’d try with the Fresh Paint app. Abstracts? Portraits? Hoping to import a photo in using the “wet paint” function? Feel free to link to inspiration images. We’d love to see!

***This just in! CanvasPop is throwing in a free 12×18 custom canvas print of your masterpiece as part of the give away. How’s that for sweetening the pot? :)

Contest ends Sunday May 5 at midnight. I’ve opened up the comments to allow for unregistered users. The winner will be emailed so please be sure to leave you email address if you’re not signed in. Good luck!

  1. WHAT??!! This giveaway is amazing! I have been wanting to make a painting similar to this for my home, but I don't have the guts as I have no painting background. Maybe this will help me! Would love to win!

  2. I love the idea of painted portraits for gifts. I would also like to try abstract painting as I love them but I am no artist!

  3. I'd love to do photos of my cat! Haha, no seriously. And photos from my wedding. I think that'd be fun. :) Abstracts also. My husband uses charcoals. I think he'd like this too.

  4. Yay! I can leave a comment (I would comment on almost all of your posts … they're all so cool … but I'm not a blogger). Anyway, I would definitely do abstracts; I love playing with combinations of shape, texture and color.

  5. I'm dying to try the wet paint function to paint over old photos like you did with your grandmother's. I think a landscape would be really cool to try!

    Thanks!

  6. I got so excited when I saw your post yesterday, but when I realized it was for window's tablets only I figured it wouldn't happen for me. So excited to have a (slim at this point – over 900 entries!?!) chance. I used to paint regularly. Oils were my medium of choice and landscapes or still lifes my subject, but I never seem to have time anymore. I love that I'd have the chance to do some quick, no mess artwork whenever I want. And the features of using pictures and such as the base is definitely something I'd have fun playing around with!

  7. I would love to play around with it. I'm not much of an artist and busting out the real stuff is a little harder to hide when it doesn't turn out that great.

  8. All of the above! I have wanted to learn to paint FOREVER but have been intimidated and overwhelmed with all the supplies… But this seems much more doable as a beginner to get m feet wet before I plunge in with the real deal. This app is blowing my mind!!! Thanks!!!!

  9. I never seem to be able to get what's in my brain on the paper/canvas – would love to try this app to see if it could help me out!

  10. I would try my hand at portraits. I love to draw and think this would be a perfect transition into trying paints. I also got so excited about reading about that feature, I was seriously considering buying a windows tablet — over just one app!

  11. I would love to try many types, but I am especially intrigued by importing photos. Definitely portraits! They're so lovely and personal. Would also love to try going over old b&w photos, like you did in th

  12. I would love to try importing a photo and making it look like an oil painting! I love to paint as a hobby but don't do much oil painting so this sounds like a fun way to try it out. Thanks for the giveaway :)

  13. Oooh. I would be trying the photo import while my sister (the artist) would be looking over my shoulder making suggestions: we'd have to split the time!

  14. I loved watching how you transformed the photo of your grandmother. I would definitely use it to try something like that. The brush stylus seems so fun!

  15. I would love to get my hands on one of these to create all kinds of art. But I'd really love to be able to paint my own maps. My first project would be taking a map of the lake I grew up on and making a painting out of it. It would be fab for sure!!

  16. Oh, gosh, what WOULDN'T I try? Pet portraits, kid portraits, landscapes, abstract paintings, "paintifying" old family photos…I could re-do the Mona Lisa, and do it up right this time! I could tidy up those messy Jackson Pollocks, and color correct Andy Warhol's soup cans….Thanks for the oppportunity
