So many of you mentioned yesterday that you were dying to get your hands on the Fresh Paint app yourself. Well, here’s your chance! The Fresh Paint team provided me with a tablet with the Windows 8 software, a keyboard dock (making your tablet basically a fully functioning laptop), and a really cool stylus brush to give away so you can create your own masterpieces in Fresh Paint.
So to enter to win the tablet, keyboard and brush stylus, please leave a comment on this post, sharing what type of painting projects you’d try with the Fresh Paint app. Abstracts? Portraits? Hoping to import a photo in using the “wet paint” function? Feel free to link to inspiration images. We’d love to see!
***This just in! CanvasPop is throwing in a free 12×18 custom canvas print of your masterpiece as part of the give away. How’s that for sweetening the pot? :)
Contest ends Sunday May 5 at midnight. I’ve opened up the comments to allow for unregistered users. The winner will be emailed so please be sure to leave you email address if you’re not signed in. Good luck!
I love to layer color over sketches of places I travel to – this would make it so easy!!!! And easy cleanup! Love it!
I would love to try to make some portraits of my kids, would probably only be able to do this through importing photos and the "wet paint" tool but how cool!
This looks amazing. I'd love to try my hand at landscapes with this.
So fun! I think I wouldn't be able to put it down :)
I would love to try my hand at some abstract painting! This would be amazing. Thanks!
I'd love to try a portrait, but I think this could be really fun for a series of free-form abstracts, perhaps in simple black and white. I might even want to get them printed out in large format! So many possibilities.
This looks like such an amazing product! I'd love to import photos using the wet paint function and send them to friends as a wedding gift I've been looking for something to add a personal touch to the strainer set off the registry :) Thanks for sharing!
I think I would try portraits of family.
I was amazed when you demoed this yesterday. I'd try painting any and everything!
Wonderful! I'd love to be able to make abstract paintings. Thanks :)
I would love to portraits! Looks so fun.
I would definitely like to do landscapes. Now that the weather is getting warmer in NYC..would like to sit outside and do some "oil" painting, haha.
Definitely abstracts!!
I love the portrait idea you made in your post as a Mother's Day Gift! I think that is such an amaziny way to add new life to an older picture! I also think abstracts would be fun to play with and so freeing after crazy day to zome out with colors moving across the screen!!
Definitely abstracts! I've been drooling over so many abstracts online and in magazines, it would be so much fun to take a (pain free) stab at making my own!
Woo hoo! I would love to win this! I would paint something probably abstract and predominantly cool toned to go in my family room – it has lots of warm colors going on right now and I've been looking for something to balance it out.
What a neat product! I would love to import photos of friends using the "wet paint" function and give it to them as a wedding present – perfect way to add a personal touch to the strainer set I'm buying off their registry :) Thanks so much for sharing!
I am particularly drawn to this style of landscapes and still-lifes. It feels like it would be an easy/challenging way to practice oil skills without the mess! And something I can easily put aside when the kids need mom.

I would use it for abstract and landscapes. love painting.
I would love to try the import photos painitng, I have a lot of travel pictures up around my house and it would be nice to add a more unique spin on a few of them.
I absolutely LOVE what you did with your grandmother's portrait! I can think of so many photos I would love to make into a painting! Genius!
The wet paint catches my curiosity. Would love to try it.

What a great giveaway! I would love to use this app to recreate some of the landscapes I photographed while traveling through the Chinese countryside a few years ago!
This is so cool, my house is in desperate need of art and as a diy'er this is the perfect tool. I would love to play with old photos and some abstracts…also portraits of my son! So many possibilities!
Um, yes please. What a great giveaway! This looks like a super cool app. I would definitely start with an abstract, or maybe take a photo and paint over it like you did. Your picture painting turned out great! Sort of like a paint by number.
For sure abstracts! I'd love to do some portraits using my old photos too. And my little artist would be so exited to try this too. Thanks. Rochelle
Dying to try the Fresh Paint app for a portrait display for our wedding this August! And abstracts…so many fun ideas bouncing around in my head.
I like the fact you can import photos. I'd love to see how creative I can get.
Amaze! I would love to experiment, so I can hang something original and personal on my walls, which are currently rocking white paint.
I would love to start with some abstract and even cubist type art. I'm fascinated with texture, color and pattern, and would love to try to make up my own patterns, designs for fabric, stationery, etc.
What a great giveaway! I'd love to try portraits but would probably start with abstracts. Thanks much!
My first masterpiece would be a portrait of my handsome tuxedo cat, Popeye!
I would love to use it for portraits! I can't get over the one you did of your Grandmother and I have several heirloom family pictures that are begging to be made into an oil painting!
Would definitely try my hand at some abstracts and have the kids give it a shot too!
When I had access to my mom's studio I used to paint a lot, but in my tiny apartment I don't often pull everything out – maybe with this kind of technology I'd get back into creating art! I'm most comfortable with abstracts, but the photo import feature might be a good way to guide myself into portraiture.
I'd love to try to paint an abstract too – or maybe a simple cartoon animal or two.
I would love to re-create all the mid-century abstracts that we see on Mad Men and then hang them on some beautiful grasscloth.
When I was art school, I started drawing portraits with charcoal. They turned out to be pretty awesome. I would love to see one as a painting.
I love the wet paint option! How great for people like me who are creative, but have little talent. :) My sister, a real artist, would love it, too. Such a neat product!!
What an awesome giveaway! Your demo the other day was really cool so I would love to be able to import my own photos and add "paint" to them (I like the idea of a mixed media look). I would also love to make a little abstract art ala the ever talented Michelle Armas. Such a cool app!
I would fo portraits of my 6 pets!!!!!
I love the wet paint option! I could so see doing portraits of my grandparents. I love that you have a work of art depicting your grandmother hanging in your girls' bedroom. This is such a neat tool.
I would looove this! im not a fantastic artist but I would love to use this to try and improve! at least I could do abstracts if nothing else!

I'd love to use this for sketching in public. Quick incidental portraits are a fun way to fill my time on the bus, or even in a bar when I was in collge, but people tend to notice a sketchpad and want to look at what you're drawing. Or they give you dirty looks like you are invading their privacy (okay maybe I am just a little bit…)I think that having a tablet to doodle on would be wonderfully private for me. No one would look twice at someone messing with a tablet. It would be really awsome to take incidental sketching to another level with color. It's hard to use more than just one pencil when you're hands are full and the app would open so many doors. I also would love to use the app while traveling. Carrying a camera and a sketchpad gets difficult, especially when I'm usually carrying a bunmch of other stuff. If i start a sketch I usually take a picture so i can finish later. This app would make it sooo easy to capture the view and your emotions all at once with the paint tools and the ability to draw over a picture. I wish I had this app (and a tablet :) so bad. It's amazing.

I think the family portrait idea would be awesome.
I'd love to try my hand at turning our wedding photos into painted creations. Thanks for the giveaway!
I love all types of painting, but I'm not so good at landscapes. I will probably do a landscape in the wet paint ap.
This would be so neat to try as a sort of "travel studio" device, so you could paint what you see wherever you go! Would love to try some landscapes on it!
Surreal landscapes (like the sunset I see in home, trees..) and portraits of my dogs and my birds.
I would love to try my hand at some abstracts! We desperately need art for our new(ish) house, but everything I love is sooo out of our price range. Consequently, our walls are mostly bare save for photographs of our children.
