So many of you mentioned yesterday that you were dying to get your hands on the Fresh Paint app yourself. Well, here’s your chance! The Fresh Paint team provided me with a tablet with the Windows 8 software, a keyboard dock (making your tablet basically a fully functioning laptop), and a really cool stylus brush to give away so you can create your own masterpieces in Fresh Paint.

(one of my recent Fresh Paint creations – I’m loving this app!)

So to enter to win the tablet, keyboard and brush stylus, please leave a comment on this post, sharing what type of painting projects you’d try with the Fresh Paint app. Abstracts? Portraits? Hoping to import a photo in using the “wet paint” function? Feel free to link to inspiration images. We’d love to see!

***This just in! CanvasPop is throwing in a free 12×18 custom canvas print of your masterpiece as part of the give away. How’s that for sweetening the pot? :)

Contest ends Sunday May 5 at midnight. I’ve opened up the comments to allow for unregistered users. The winner will be emailed so please be sure to leave you email address if you’re not signed in. Good luck!

  1. Hi Jenny, love your blog! I have always wanted to do a painting of the morning light coming in through my living room windows and hang it in between those very same two windows. i think this might just be the way to do it…..

  2. I'm new at painting and this would be a great way to improve my skills! I'd love to import vintage images and paint or do abstract! It'd be pretty cool to import a vintage portrait and paint everything except the face…that should be a neat effect– vintage meets abstract!

  3. Wow! Would love to create abstracts this way! I've especially been wanting to do some stylized landscapes showing southern marshes.

    Fingers crossed!

  4. I would love this. I have wanted to paint, but am a bit intimidated by it all. This would be a great way to try. I'd love to try painting over an old photo, but would like to experiment in abstract as well. What a great app and a great giveaway.

  5. I do a lot of photography and constantly think some of the photos would be lovely as paintings, I just don't have the time to paint them. Photoshop just doesn't do this well. This could make those images in my head so much easier to come to life. Yay, I want one!

  6. I would mix it up. Try my hand at abstract and then take on a landscape painting. I love that this app is out there for us nonartist to dabble with painting.

  7. I absolutely loved your painting and I would love to have the tools to make one of my own! Fingers crossed!

Also, I had an experience entirely inspired by this blog. Frustrated with the cost of patio furniture, I cruised craigslist and found a $15 set of wrought iron table and four chairs. We sanded down the rust spots, primed and painted with Rustoleum and Ta Da! fabulous set for about $25 including paint! Thanks for the inspiration!

  8. I would LOVE to try to paint portrait and silhouette! I was never really into art but recently I have discovered that I am pretty good at it and the "art genes" weren't just in my siblings! I would love to practice more and use it to decorate my house!!!

  9. That is super cool. Does it let you choose the medium and such to practice more realistic painting techniques?

  10. What a fun give away!
I have a few ideas I want to try:
    Pixelated abstract
Using the app to paint over a photograph
    still life of bright flowers

    Thanks for sharing!

  11. i would go nuts with abstracts! i have lots of people in my life who have way too much empty wall space and so i think i'd be set with gifts for several years to come!

  12. Oh wow, I would absolutely love to try my hand at some abstracts. I love big brushstrokes of bold, saturated colors and it would be so neat to make my own creations!

  13. I would love to be able to do the photo upload and then paint over it. My husband's family recently gifted us some pictures of his great grandparents who immigrated from Holland, and it would be fun to decorate with them!

    Thanks!

  14. Oh my goodness this is the coolest! I've recently been obsessed with trying to build up my art collection, but have been struggling to find art that really speaks to me. Maybe this would allow me to create art that I know I would love–and printing it would be so cheap!! I would definitely experiment with abstracts and importing photos. jessicajhartshorn@gmail.com

  15. How exciting! I love what you did by importing photos and painting overtop… my real-life painting skills are nowhere as good as yours, but this seems like a fun way to get better!
