I've used the magnetic paint before, and the trick with it is that you have to make sure to mix it up really well otherwise all the metal bits sink to the bottom of the can and it'll take a million coats to get your surface magnetic.

I have those blue towels on my weekend shopping list- I cant wait to get my hands on them now!
We used magnetic paint underneath our chalkboard paint behind the desk in our kitchen. So, we have a "pin" board of sorts where we can write notes in chalk and stick other things up with magnets. The only problem is that we have to get really strong magnets or they don't hold things very well. Other than that, it works great!
I used magnetic paint on a wall in my kitchen. Given the choice, I would not use it again. It took a lot of coats (three cans) and a lot of $ and it is still only slightly magnetic. I can't imagine how many coats I would have had to have done for it to hold things well, but I stopped at 3 cans and 6 coats.
We painted two areas in our house with magnetic paint, and it's a little underwhelming. I don't remember how many coats we did (3 or 4?) and a lot of our magnets aren't strong enough to use with it. My kids were quite young at the time, so I couldn't use the super strong ones.
i've used the magnetic paint and it was okay if i had REALLY strong magnets, everything else fell off. and i did five or six layers. plus it left a permanent ridge on the wall that if i ever really want to get rid of it – will have to be cut out and repaired. i'm not exaggerating. though, i can see using it on a piece of furniture or fainting something to be hung…just maybe not the wall itself. good luck. have fun.

the magnetic paint didn't work for me — however, it may be because all the metal (?) has sunk to the bottom by the time i used it, even though i was shaking it like a cocktail for several minutes.
I love Rustoleum Oil Based paints and have used them for so many projects. I've also had a lot of success with Ace Hardware's brand. I love their John Deere green!

Thank you so much for your wonderful blog. It is a daily read for me, and can be credited as the inspiration for many projects around my home. I was wondering if you might ever do a post about great books to use as prints for framing. I adored the botanical prints in the "Todd and Emily Tour" but my husband feels they are too feminine! Do you have any ideas for more unisex prints with the same vintage-y feel as those botanicals?? Wow, I hope you have time to respond to this. I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
