The truck is coming to my house at noon today and we’ll be loading up lots and lots of furniture and home stuff to sell this Saturday, August 7 from 7:00 am – 1:30 pm at the Arlington, VA Flea Market located at North 15th Street and Quincy (here’s the map).

Cash only.

I will be on the ‘E Level’ which is open-air. Please come and say hi and introduce yourself. I’ll be the girl with paint-stained hands and a baby on her hip.

Here’s a sampling of what will be coming. I’ve included some of my reserve prices here. All prices shown here and on the tickets at the sale will be firm until 11:00 am.

**Please note that I won’t be at my computer much until the sale, so I won’t be able to accept ‘dibs’ or put holds on pieces. If there is something you see here or know of in my home that you want to make a generous offer on, email me and if I’m tempted, I’ll consider working something out.

I tried to keep prices reasonable and also tried to bring a range of furniture that’s either ready to be used at a fair price, or less expensive things that need some TLC.

For example, this mid-century dining hutch was something I painted, so it costs $250

But this vintage hutch is ready for you to customize yourself and costs $60. There is cool paper in a gold cane pattern lining the shelves already.

Likewise, due to cost of materials and labor, my Chiang Mai settee has a reserve price of $350.

But this vintage tufted sofa is only $50. I love the ivory flame stitch upholstery. This piece is screaming for gorgeous pillows!

All mirrors $30-$100

China $1-$3 per piece

Pair antique twin bed frames (head and foot boards) $250/pair

Drexel twin canopy bed, $100 ($5 side tables seen to the left)

Antique daybed (rails not shown), $200

Lamps $5-$40 ea (these are the less exciting ones, relegated to the basement)

Artwork: I have boxes and boxes of art to sell, most for $5-$30 ea. This series of eight prints of scenes of NYC is $100.

Pair vintage bombay chests painted BM Marlboro Blue. $80/pair

Side tables GALORE!! Priced between $5 and $60 each.

Benches, some needing a lot of love (for $5), others already upholstered in designer fabric, like Ralph Lauren’s leopard. This vintage pair of painted steel benches is $200.

Lulu DK footstool $45

Trunks, suitcases etc $3-$50

Credenza $50

Blue gray wall mirror, $40

China Hutch, $250

Bamboo trellis vanity bench, $35

Midcentury tufted floral chair. Upholstery is in perfect condition and the fabric is a gorgeous yellow floral – almost a suzani print. Love. $6o

I featured some of the pretty things, but like I said, there will be many diamonds in the rough, like this $8 pedestal table and the $5 mirror to the right.

And then, of course, at 11:00 am all offers will be considered. I don’t want to haul anything home.

Other things of note:

Dining room hutch, $150
Dining curtains, set of four panels, $100
Chiang Mai headboards from girls room, $300 for the pair (the fabric alone is worth twice that)
Black and white striped living room curtains, set of two panels, $150
Brand spankin new, still in the package seagrass rug with black binding from Ballard, 8×10, $135
Black Campaign chest (the mate to Joanna’s), $50
Red-orange CB2 Office chair, $35
XXlarge sunburst mirror from my DR, $75

  1. I'm so depressed, I want it ALL (quite literally) but I live no where near you. Sigh.

You should really sell these peices for more. They are amazing.

  2. I want to vomit! Even with the weak rand, these amazing pieces are such a bargain! It will probably cost 10times their price just to ship to South Africa…oh well, hope your sale goes really well!

  3. OH MY GOODNESS…Your house is like HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are way under pricing them…did you buy everything for $0.50?

Where did it all COME FROM?

    FABULOUSNESS!

  4. I say this with so much love and with an attic so full of similar haul that you can't walk through it–girl, you have a serious problem:) Seriously, that is such a great haul and I'm so upset that I'm not able to make the drive up this weekend to shop. I know it will be so much fun!

  5. I am just about sick as I'm reading this that I'm headed out of town in the other direction from where you are :( I would so drive up there by myself and load my fan full.

Is all of this yours or do you just buy pieces for clients as you find neat things?

  6. Oh. My. Word. I cannot believe the prices and beauty of the items you are selling. You will not come home with one thing, I tell you. I would totally drive to VA from NC to buy those bamboo side tables for $80/pair alone, not to mention the cost of the truck I would have to rent! But, alas, I'm driving to Charlotte that very same day – not the right direction! Have a great sale – and your prices are set to move!

  7. Hmmmm . . . your post makes me want to rent a uhaul, drive to arlington, and load up. In New York, everything you list would be 5x as expensive. Thanks for keeping prices low. I only wish I could come and raid the sale.
I love the hutches and end tables especially.

  8. I am SO obsessed with your settee. I have been looking for one for ages and your's is perfect. Maybe I can convince my Mom in Maryland to stop by for me! Fabulous stuff!

  9. Jenny! You need to raise your prices. That stuff is amazing. You cannot even get fabric for that settee for $350! Good luck. If I could drive from Boston I would be there when the doors opened.

  10. I am stunned by how reasonably priced your fabulous collection is – pains me SO deeply that I cant make the trip! Good luck!

  11. Good lord. I just moved from Arlington to Raleigh and see so many things that I NEED for my new house! So sad i won't be able to jet up to VA this weekend. If for some odd reason your NY prints or the $60 hutch that needs some love don't sell, please please let me know and I will take them!

  12. Sweet! I live in Fairfax, so Arlington is just a hop skip and a jump away! Convincing the boyfriend to take is SUV there this weekend so we can check out what you have. That blue-grey mirror would be perfect for the dressing room I'm redoing! Crossing my fingers it's still there when I show up tomorrow!

  13. Oh no I wish I lived closer!! I wonder what it costs to ship to Alabama? I love the second sofa you posted. I have always wanted one because it reminds me of my Great Grandmother's house. I hope it goes well for you!

  14. Oh my goodness, you have the best stash I have ever seen! If I was rich, I would take a plane to you and haul everything home. Good luck with the sale…I probably don't have to even say that though because everything will be snapped up in a second!

  15. Apparently I need to take a trip up to VA this week. Great pieces, you're going to get rid of everything no sweat!

  16. Ahhh…. I am so depressed. I have looking forward to the sale for weeks but I never bothered to look at the location. I thought, "Ok, Arlington… It'll be metro accesible." I was all set to make out like a bandit but alas, it's not near the metro! And with no car I am stuck stuck stuck in MD. Grr.

I LOVE those bombay night stands. I've been searching for the last 3 years for the perfect pair to replace my cheapo Target nightstands that are falling apart. Those blue beauties are perfection. Not to mention I see some lovely lamps, mirrors, and other items that could happily live with me. :(

Hope the sale goes well! I'm so bummed I can't go.

  17. curious – cash only or checks accepted (maybe i missed that part)?

glad you were able to find a space here!

  18. Agghh! I want it ALL. If you posted these pictures earlier I might have bought a plane ticket (from Nebraska) so I could go to your sale. You are going to have some lucky, lucky buyers.

  19. you have been such a busy lady! i am dying over the vintage tufted sofa. wish i could come help this weekend! i don't think you'll have to worry about taking anything home, everything is so good!

  20. LOOOOOVE this stuff. Seriously considering cancelling a tubing trip to head to VA and snag all your fine loot! Just a question—any clue on the dimentions of the white hutch w/ red interior?? That's EXACTLY what I've been searching for, for a LONG time, and SUCH a great price. I WANT IT TO BE MINE NOW! :)

  21. Pls pls I'll get the white hutch, blue side table and marlboro side tables, pls ship it to Chicago.

    emailid:mailarchanareddy@yahoo.co.in

    Pls let me know.

  22. I live in Washington, DC and can't wait to stop by tomorrow – I already see three things I want to snatch up! This will only involve a little husband convincing :)

  23. Gah, I am dying! I would gladly pay MUCH more than your asking price on the Chiang Mai settee if it could be shipped. I definitely think you are underselling that puppy.

Good luck with the sale! :)

  24. All I can say is I love this, and I wish I had a truck and lived near Arlington. If you ever venture down to the Nashville flea market, let us know. I will be there, with fresh green bills!

  25. I feel so lucky to live in DC. Thankfully my wonderful boyfriend just rented a Uhaul!
