I didn’t notice before that the little chest is actually a jewelry armoire. (probably because I couldn’t stop staring at the gorgeous venetian mirror!)

I did a quick search on my local craigslist and came up with a couple of options for my bedroom that could have a similar feel with a little paint and some new knobs.

If you want something brand new, this jewelry/lingerie chest from Wal-mart is pretty darn close, though I wish the legs were a little more delicate. I would add these tiny bun feet to the bottom.

Don’t forget to add some pretty hardware.

  1. I couldn't stop looking at the cropped jacket and all the fun jewelry but after my vision cleared, I saw the armoire :)

It would definitely be a surefire way to keep your jewelry in one spot and the Walmart looks great (and I am sure it's a steal!)!

  2. I am intrigued by the idea of swapping out the legs… good idea.
Why don't things come with legs anymore? I'm tired of rescuing dinky cars from under the dresser, and everything else.

  3. Of all places, I saw a fantastic jewelry armoire in a JCPenney mailer in the past couple of months.

It's time for me to have a jewelry armoire so that I can see and enjoy the jewelry collection I hold so dear to my sentimental heart.

  4. Ha! I agree with Jade, I was staring at the jacket too long !
I don't actually have the armoir but the top three drawers in my chest of drawers are jewelry drawers.
I only worry about using them for jewelry in case of theft, I prefer to keep my things in a safe and just the everyday casual stuff in the drawers.
Sadly (sort of ) I live in a city where there are thieves and home robberies.

  5. I have one watch and one ring. No necklaces, no bracelets and no earrings. I guess I don't need a jewelry armoire. Maybe a jewelry saucer. Or a jewelry bowl.

  6. That is a seriously great idea. I've never thought about a jewelry armoire, but my collection is pretty out of control and needs to be contained.

  7. I searched for a jewelry armoire for months, and ended up picking one up for super cheap from JC Penney's website (of all places). It came in a dark wood that's not really my style, but I'm in the middle of refinishing it and I love love LOVE it.
