Check out one of the pieces I got at my Wednesday furniture auction:
A vintage office chair that’s actually really comfortable.
I love the way it looks from behind with all that gorgeous wood!
I’m going to keep the pretty tufting when I reupholster the piece next month. I’m thinking a charcoal linen would be pretty.
Other than that, a little Bar Keeper’s Friend for the rusted steel and some Restor-A-Finish for the scratch up veneer, and this chair will look great in my new office (which is technically just one half of our new living room! :)
I wonder if you could add wheels to pimp your office ride?
pve
What a cool find! Can't wait to see the finished, up-holstered product!
You really do snag the best finds! That is beautiful and will be all the more so once you get your talented hands on it. Charcoal linen-yes!
Oh wish I could attend whatever auction you went to! Great find!
The best price there is: FREE!!
Someone bought a big lot of furniture at the auction yesterday and didn't want the chair (probably bc the vinyl is ripped?). I gladly took it off his hands!!
I did a little googling and it is a pretty pricey chair (when it's in perfect condition). Another commenter was right in that it's a mid-century plycraft chair. I wish it had come with the little tufted ottoman, but that's not a big deal since I am going to use it as a desk chair.
PVE – I think I just might add casters! Just to make it a little more functional. I know it's not staying true to the original design, but neither is charcoal linen upholstery and using a lounger as a desk chair. I'm not one to take design too seriously anyway. Form and function baby.
Great find!
That is SPIFFY. I can't wait to see–are you planning to do the upholstery, or have it done for you?
Great find! Please post after photos!
Ooh baby… that is awesome!

So cool! I'm helping a friend reupholster some dining chairs and we've decided they need new foam. Will you reuse the existing foam or replace? Any good sources for foam?
Cannot wait to see the finished product! Love the idea of linen!
Good luck!

What a fabulous find! It seems like a fun departure from your style but what do I know? I'm on pins and needles to see what you do with it!
can't wait to see the after!!!
do you reupholster your self? or hire someone?
jenny! I LOVE it. It's like an Eames Lounge chair and task chair in one. So perfect. better find than I would have ever imagined
How do you such great things on Craig's List? I spend a decent amount of time pouring over lists of home items, but a lot of it seems like junk. Do you search for specific things, or do you just sift through all of the listings on a regular basis? I love your ability to reinvent things!
Now THAT is a find.
I think charcoal linen sounds perfect. Something masculine would be nice.
