I vote jenny lind.
Well since it's only points and not cash. I'm with Eleanor, it's Barley Twist.
Hickory Chair Spool Chair is correct! During the Great Depression my great grandfather actually made corner shelves out of old spools and sold them for $3 each. Recently I found one in a relative's basement. I guess that's why I remembered the name of the chair!
I say Jenny Lind.
Spool Chair – and i only know because i LOVE them!!
more importantly, where do I get that tufted ottoman/coffee table?
I'm with you Lisa!! I love the ottoman/coffee table too.
I've heard many people call it a "bobbin" chair. Spool, bobbin, I guess that makes sense. Love your blog by the way!
I'm thinking Hickory Chair spool chair, but I'm wondering if this chair's spools are a slightly smaller? Or am I over thinking this? Anyway, I love the photo; what is its source?
Spool chair or bobbin chair! The best are the antiques (check 1stdibs.com for resources), but there are some wonderful repros on the market. And they are surprisingly comfortable if you have enough padding in the upholstery.
Hickory Chair makes it but Fairfield Chair makes a less expensive (but still expensive!) version. I have the latter and it's very beautiful and comfortable, comes in several finishes.
OK…I'm gonna go out on a limb here and call it "Fred A-Chair". Get it? Get it? OK…never mind.
def spool chair!! btw..have you ever thought of taking off word verification? i'd comment so much more often ; ) lazy, i know.
Haha, G! Love it. :)
hickory chair! just ordered two for a client!!
I'm going with hickory chair spool also, but most important, this whole room is absolutely stunning!! I'm so glad Centsational Girl (: attached a link about it!

Don't know whose it is but I want one!
Franklin chair found on Patagonia.com
Silly me, I just checked the bottom of my chair and it's not Fairfield, it's Tommy Bahama Home. Just in case anyone's interested in a very nice Hickory Chair lookalike for a bit less. – anon 8:19
Neat! The strange thing is, as soon as I saw this, I thought of old colonial furniture (as in 17th c.) Obviously, no one in their right mind would paint a Brewster chair because they're so rare, but the comparison between the two is uncanny.
Here's a pic:

Weird, right? Now I want to know if the spool chair makers were aiming for that, or if it was pure serendipity.
Does 'gorgeous' count?
bobbin chair!
Wouldn't you pretty please post some pictures of your color coordinated book shelves? I have lovely shelves in my living room that are arranged with books and objects de art, but in my living room I have shelves that are stuffed with BOOKS…and I can never figure out how to make it look nice (even though a load of books does look nice to me no matter how you stack 'em).
Lexington Home makes them.
jenny lind?
It also happens to be Michelle Obama's chair of choice. Hickory Chair, made in America. Very suitable for the White House don't you think?
