This was a very fast project, accomplished in a single afternoon. Just a couple coats of black semi-gloss interior latex paint. (She also switched out the old light fixture for this sassy polished nickel chandelier from Lowes that was on clearance for $37)

I hesitate to do this in my own house because of all the original big wooden trim and banisters. What do you think?

i'm so happy to see someone else painting their doors black! all of my interior doors are black — all of them — and it really dresses up the (old) space. very classic. i'm working up the design nerve to go ahead and paint the exterior doors black as well.
Can anyone help me?? I want to paint the inside of my front door which has the top 1/2 glass window and the hallway walls are painted a chocolate brown. The floor is a lighter brown tile. What color would you suggest I paint the door? All these pictures show white walls.
Love it! Makes a huge difference and so stunning. Small inexpensive changes with a big impact are the best.
I like it too. There's a great transformation made with the door. It looks more appealing than the white color before.
Turning its color into black is better. It is now more noticeable than before.
