Ribbon on Mini Blinds

Has anyone ever trimmed out their slatted blinds (mini or otherwise) with grosgrain? I’ve seen it done before in other rooms, but I can’t find any more pictures online – or any instructions for that matter.

  1. I'm taking a guess….but I believe it's seam binding that simply fabric glued?? I too have seen that, and thought it a great idea – but I don't have blinds so the interest faded….
Hope you find out for sure!
it's very nice to meet you and can't wait to look around some more……

  2. I have used these before for clients. google images using the words ladder tape or cloth tape for more pictures & where to buy. I have always done it at the time of making the blinds. It can look very effective in the right room. Ax

  3. I'm going to try this with a Greek Key trim on a small mini-blind in my son's bathroom. The custom trim does come stitched at intervals to the blind pulls, but as my blind usually remains closed, I'm going to attempt to use double-sided velcro to adhere the trim to the top and bottom of the blind.
    Fingers-crossed!

  4. I've thought about it but worry about messing the blinds up (which aren't that cheap to begin with) so that they don't roll up properly or don't hang right when down….

If you try it, please let us know how it goes!

  5. You typically buy the blinds with the fabric tape. Most companies off that as an 'upgrade' (even the Home Depot lines offer it), but I think it's a fabulous detail. If you don't use the blinds and they are JUST for looks, you could glue some ribbon on, but I would not highly suggest it. Good luck…love the blog!

  6. i love this idea! it's just the finishing touch on a room. i hope you find the instructions because i might just have to steal your idea
