Sometimes the DIY stars align and a project comes together easily and quickly with supplies already on hand. This skirted bench, made with vintage @schumacher1889 fabric I’ve had in my stash for years, was finished in just a few hours and works perfectly to hide the puppy kennels in our mudroom! The puppies love it, and we love it too! 🤍 I haven’t had a lot of time for this kind of DIY project in the last two years so it felt good to prove to myself I’ve still got those make-it-work skills in me somewhere! 💪🏼

Do you love the look of bleached white oak like I do?! Here’s a great hack for you! 👉🏼 Oven cleaner can be used to strip old stain off solid wood! It’s faster and creates a more uniform finish than paint stripper, in my opinion. That said, I think I would actually stick to Citrustrip and good old fashion sanding for larger pieces of furniture that probably shouldn’t be exposed to a ton of water. The oven cleaner worked like a charm on these old thrift stores frames I got this weekend though! I would definitely recommend this method for smaller projects with a lot of detail. I have a old carved box with a flaking finish that I might try tackling next! 🙌🏼 What have you used Oven Cleaner to strip? I’d love to see your projects!

Spring vibes in my kitchen today, courtesy of some potted bulbs that bloomed overnight, and a new @laureldawn.cornerstudio for @juniperprintshop print up on the backsplash! 🌸 We launched 30 new prints today and I would love to hear which are your favorites! I’ve been working with a couple Ukrainian art dealers for a long time now to source quite a few (14 to be exact) of the pieces in our @juniperprintshop vintage collection over the years. (Lakeside and Laurel here in my living room are included! (Also miss you, Linus 😢)) I have been in touch with these art dealers in Ukraine and they are currently safe, though obviously under intense distress. They both encouraged us to donate to NGOs rather than to them directly. So today we created a Ukrainian Collection on the site and we will be donating 100% of the proceeds of the sale of these vintage Ukrainian pieces to @liftinghandsinternational. This incredible organization, which we have worked with in the past and completely trust, is hoping to raise $150,000 as soon as possible for refugees, mostly women and children, fleeing (many walking!) from Ukraine into Moldova. Please help us this week and donate directly to Lifting Hands or purchase a print so we can donate on your behalf! Thank you! 💛💙

We lost our best buddy, Linus, last night on Christmas, after a perfect day spent together. Our hearts are broken, but he left us in the most incredible, and somehow peaceful way, surrounded by his family who were telling him what a good boy he has always been for us since he came into our lives exactly ten years ago. Our brother.🤍 I’ll be forever grateful that as we were walking out the door a few weeks ago, I had the nudge to bring him with us to take our Christmas card photos. I will cherish these forever, @lizzyography. 🤍 Until we meet again, Liney, you will always be in our hearts and we will feel you here in our home, doing your best work - keeping watch over the girls and giving us a kind look and a snuggle when we’re sad. Love you, buddy. 🤍
