I think we are going to do a few little bedroom switches when the baby gets older, but I haven’t worked it all out yet, so I’ve held off on buying a new crib. I did pick up a bassinet off Craigslist though and gave it a little makeover during the holidays.

The last trimester has really snuck up on me – and I’m not at all ready. We got rid of all our baby stuff in New York so I’m full on starting over with everything.

I know everyone has a different ideas about baby gear, but I’m a fan of bassinets for at least the first few months.

Our doors and windows can be open most of the day and we eat on the back porch now. It’s heaven! I picked up a little kids picnic table at IKEA this summer and painted it F&B’s Arsenic with the left over paint from our kitchen door project. It’s a perfect place for the girls to sit down for a snack or a craft project that I’d rather keep outside.

They’re fun reminders for us of people we love and have been inspired by. The challenge has been figuring out interesting ways to display the photos.

I’ve always thought this image from Elle Decor of a child’s room with giant pink print of Elizabeth Taylor was so cool:

The image (and this idea too) came to mind when I was printing out a photo of my great grandma in front of her home in Sweden for our playroom.
