New at IKEA!

Have you seen the new IKEA line called Sinnerlig? It was a collaboration with British designer Ilse Crawford and it’s super beautiful. My very favorite piece (which apparently is only available in stores right now) is this steel, acacia wood daybed. Isn’t that jute webbing amazing? It’s like all the best things about midcentury design in one beautiful (and super affordable) piece.

I’m so inspired by the jute webbing. I have this old bench that I got on the cheap at a thrift store and it’s still sitting in storage because the caning is ripped on the seat. I bet I could do something cool here with this webbing idea!

PS There are a couple of new rugs in the 2016 line that aren’t a part of the Sinnerlig line, but they’re still really great!

They’re all between 5×8′ and 8×10′ which is already a pretty great size, but if you need a bigger size, why not try this idea?

  1. So pretty! But it looks like that daybed is one of those IKEA products that's only available in Europe–not in the U.S. I always wind up falling in love with something of theirs that you can't get here.

  2. The Sinnerlig collection is too cute (I bought a carafe and two jugs), I really like how down-to-earth yet unexpected the cork is. I was so tempted to get the stools and dining table but the rustic look doesn't fit with my dining room nor kitchen. x

  3. I've heard a lot of these items can be found randomly in US stores! Worth checking! I know the daybed for sure is in stores, but they've had some problems getting the cushion/pad. Lucky Euro readers! :)

  4. I have a little (broken) caned back sofa that I had also thought of fixing up with jute. Though, jute and colored yarn ala those really super Target benches from last year (was it last year?). I got all geared up for the project, and then decided to try my hand at recaning. It's surprisingly easy! I used a more modern weave, didn't stain it, and it's like a whole new piece! Anyway, I look forward to seeing what you do with yours.

  5. I love the carafes! I had some ivy growing in water in a wine bottle, and I drilled a hole through the cork stopper, and stuck the plant in the carafe. It makes it much simpler to change the plant's water, and looks great!

  6. I just love IKEA! We make a day of it – I love to take my boys on Tuesdays so they get free lunch! I have IKEA furniture throughout my house – it is great design.

  7. Thanks for another informative website. The place else
may just I get that type of information written in such a perfect means?
I have a challenge that I am simply now operating on, and I have been on the
    glance out for such info.
