I am working on a couple bathroom projects right now and they’re becoming one of my favorite rooms to design and decorate! In these small spaces every choice packs a big punch and every detail matters. I love bathrooms like this one in Ana Gasteyer’s house. Quirky styling layered on classic selections is always a great formula!

Schlage just released two new finishes in their door hardware line – polished nickel and satin brass – and they are gorgeous! I wish these were around when I was picking door hardware for our house! The price point is unreal.

Luckily I get to use these polished nickel beauties in my mom’s house, which is *almost* ready to be photographed. Here was my design board for one her bathrooms that I’ll be sharing soon. We tried to make this room as budget-friendly, but as beautiful as possible!

We pulled our inspiration from bathrooms that have that classic-but-quirky feel. A little bit modern, a little bit traditional. Lots of black and whites. Natural stone and wood elements. Colorful art and rugs. I love these spaces and want to be friends with the people who live in them.

I’m so excited to share the bathroom redo after photos! We’re installing this week, so look for updates and sneak peeks on Instagram! And don’t forget to enter to win the $4500 bathroom remodel here!

  1. We're in the middle of redoing our guest bathroom, goodbye 80's grey toilet, sink, and claustrophobic grey fiberglass tub!! It sounds odd, but I love the toilet paper holder I just got from an etsy shop. It's powder-coated steel and I got the white one to go with our new, precious WHITE fixtures (so happy to get rid of the gray!).
    Here's the link:

I'm also looking at these shelves:

(I have no affiliation with these etsy stores, just like their stuff!)

My only dilemma right now is finding a mirror that I like. It may have to wait until everything else goes in so I can see what I would work best.

  2. We just bought a house in Mesa and the master bathroom is so very builder-beige-boring, it makes me sad to look at it. I've been hoarding ideas that are almost exactly like these design boards here, blacks and whites and clean modern lines with punches of fun colors and accents and some warm woods.

  3. We moved into our (hopefully) forever home last fall and have been slowly chipping away at updating it. The master bathroom is pretty bad…all very 90's builder grade, but has great potential. The previous owner decided to spray paint selective brass fixtures oil rubbed bronze (!) so every time we shower or bathe our kids in there it chips off and leaves such a mess! Can't wait to renovate one day :) Love all the inspiration photos!

  4. Jenny, did you just decorate a Parade of Homes house in Pleasant Grove, Utah? I just went through one tonight that had so many elements that looked like they were taken right out of your playbook – even down to using the same wallpaper on the ceiling in one of the kids' bedrooms as you have in your kids' playroom! It was a beautiful home and reminded me a lot of your style, although with maybe a little less color. I loved it.

  5. Hey Jenny,

It would be great if you highlighted Ana Gasteyer's house link more visibly so that the readers could view it's source blog, Manhattan-Nest, and get a chance to see how the amazing Daniel Kanter transformed the bathroom.

  6. Love this giveaway; they are always so generous! Our bathroom in our first house is an amazing 80s bathroom: mauve, laminate and plastic tub. Eek! This would be the one to win and have your help! Good luck everyone.

  9. Thanks for this giveaway, Jenny! Each of those bathrooms you featured are totally awesome and you nailed it with your product roundup/moodboard. Each component is perfect. Fingers crossed I win this, oh my gosh, that would be so over the moon exciting! Love all your work. Thanks again!

  10. What an incredible giveaway! We moved into our home two years ago and I've had such a blast decorating, but my neglected master bathroom is still 90s-licious — an update just hasn't been in the budget. What a dream this would be!! Thank you!

  11. Jenny, what did you select for door hinges in your parents' house?
I love the polished nickel locksets, but it appears Schlage doesn't make hinges in the same finish.
    Thanks!
