While Samsung's design for the fridges are amazing -- the mechanics are NOT. We bought a Samsung French Door for all the great features -- and it promptly began having chunks of ice develop all across the back vents. We had to MANUALLY defrost it. Yes, a modern refrigerator need manual defrost. We thought it a quirk, but it re-occurred within a few weeks. Some googling revealed they have an entire class of fridges that do this, and that fancy TWIN cooling system has major design flaws. I even found there is a group of people mounting a class action suit regarding this design flaw and Samsung's continued production of these models over several years. Lucky for me, after several manual defrosts, I learned that sometimes if you turn off the energy saver feature you might get lucky and have the problem stop. So far we are okay.

Glad you had a good visit with them. And I do love the design of the shelves and such of my fridge. But after spending nearly $2000, I wouldn't want anyone to have the problems we did within a year of purchase. My neighbor had a problem like this with her Samsung fridge too. (love my Samsung TV though!) Just thought you're readers should know.

I confess that my first thought was "ho-hum, sponsored post". But whoa that fridge is amazing. I am floored by the flexible freezer/fridge option on the bottom. That's impressive.

We have a Samsung, front loader washer/dryer and have been very happy with it. We'll have to consider their fridge as our terrible Viking is on the fritz.
