Michael and I have a goal of bringing more art into our home over the next couple of years. I’ve mentioned before how it can be a little daunting to know where to start looking for artists. But have you ever been searching, and then all at once an artist’s collection or piece of art just sings to you? Your heart is doing backflips and your mind is racing? That happens to me a lot in museums, where I feel a connection with an artist, but it’s (obviously!) harder to find that in the art market in a real and affordable way.
I’m so, so thrilled to share today’s (HUGE) give away from acclaimed artist and philanthropist, Jessie Mackay, and artist who makes my heart sing. Her work has been praised by NYT art critics and hangs in celebrity homes (check out her paintings in James Carville and Mary Matalin’s home featured in Architectural Digest). Here are a few of my favorites currently available on Jessie’s site.
Today she is generously offering up this 24×30 gallery-wrapped abstract painting called ‘Soft Thoughts.’
Here are some close ups of this lovely painting, just sitting in my loft, waiting to be shipped to your home!
I love the bits of bright, almost neon paint peeking through the soft grays and creams.
Lucky you, there are a couple of ways to enter your name into the pot.
1) Simply leave a comment on this post sharing where you would hang ‘Soft Thoughts’ in your home.
2) Like Jessie Mackay Art on Facebook and leave a comment on this post saying so.
3) Pin your favorite Jessie Mackay art from her site and leave a comment on this post saying so.
The winner will be chosen at random from the comments here on July 25 at midnight. Good luck!
****CONGRATS TO WINNER JAMIE LUNT! THANK YOU ALL FOR ENTERING****
I've been living in my apartment for over 6 months, and my living room walls are still completely bare. Shame. It would look terrific on my walls in there! Love the colors! Thanks for the opportunity!

Oh my. This is beautiful. After being a SAHM for 7 years and just going back to work part-time, I have been wanting to buy a piece of artwork to hang in our kitchen. The kitchen is where my two little girls play the most and that is where they would see it.
I have a blank space in my living room that i've been saving for something really special. The colors and feel are so loveley.
I pinned "Days End" to my Pinterest board.

Pinned! I would hang in my kitchen which is white on white on bleached white oak floors. It would be the only color in the room. It's subtle and radiant. Perfect for the art wall. ELEM
This is so gorgeous! I would definitely put it in my bedroom to elicit "Soft Thoughts" as I am going to sleep. LOVE!

I would hang this in my master bedroom. Beautiful.
I liked her facebook page and pinned her paintings. I would hang this beautiful painting above my desk.
Our bedroom has one wall that is half brick and has a fireplace in the middle. I'd hang the painting on the brick part of the wall above the fireplace!
1. Love this piece. It would hang prominently in my living room. Our house was originally built by art collectors, so we have large blank walls and track spot lights…and sadly, very little art to fill the spaces. This would be such a welcome ray of sunshine!
3. I pinned "Bill's Irises". Love the cool color palette.
Also, just pinned "Soft Thoughts" to my "Home" board on Pinterest.
Incredible piece. I love the movement and light. In my home it would get a place of honor, in our entryway for all of our guests and family to see and admire.
