I upholstered two diamond tufted headboards this year for clients and I’m about to start on my third and fourth for my girls’ room. Here’s a little sneak peek of the first (definitely not perfect, but still pretty) headboard I made. Room reveals and tutorials are on the way!
I <3 metallic linen.
So now that I have a little bit of diamond-tufting practice under my belt, would you call me crazy to want to attempt one of these?…
I’ve been surprised by how much we miss having a big ottoman for the kids to roll around and play on. And wouldn’t this be so pretty in our place?
Also, today’s Babble post shares couple of ideas (some old, some new) for ‘wallpapering’ a wall, without really wallpapering.
Hey guys!
The metallic linen is from Grayline Linens here in the city. They do have a website, but it's hard to tell what is what from the images. There are various weights and some are gold and some are silver. Really gorgeous stuff. I'm going up there to take pictures for a special post about the available options. Can't wait to share!

I adore diamond tufting – cant wait for the tutorial! and to see your projects!

I've heard that diamond tufting is very difficult to do. I'm impressed that you've completed some tufted headboards. I can't wait to read your tutorial.
I really hope you try this out because I'm obsessed with those ottomen (ottomans? I never know how to type that) and I would LOVE to see how it's done!
I think you can do just about anything so I'd love to see you try your hand the ottoman project. Can't wait to see how it turns out . You are amazing!!
Fabulous job – can't wait to see the ottoman – you know you will do it!
I had a crazy super tufted ottoman made for our dressing room by a local upholsterer. I love the result. You can see it here about 3/4 of the way down the page.

It's 40" square and 18" high and it has 297 tufts. When he delivered it he basically said I'll never make one of these ever again! Whoops :) I would be SUPER impressed if you DIY this but the math skills and finger strength required was waaay beyond me. Can't wait to see how you do it, it will be amazing!
Also can you PLEASE share a source for metallic linen?
regarding your wall papering blurb — have you seen wall candy arts has started a line of temp wallpaper and are partnering with French Bull to do some of their designs for the same product — should be cool.
Do it! If you can do a headboard you can so do that, it's just got a few more tufting involved!
Love the tutfted ottoman look! The bright turquoise is one of favorites!
Please share sources for the matallic linen. LOVE IT!
I diamond tufted two headboards last year for my daughters' rooms too! I have a tutorial on my blog! It was a lot of work to put together. I will be curious to see how you tackled yours!

I can't wait to read the tutorial for the tuffed headboard. I've been thinking about DIYing a headboard and this just might be that little push I need!
Wow! You did an amazing job with the headboards!
I'm interested in details about the metallic linen fabric, as I've been unsuccessfully hunting for some to use for drapes!
Third-ing the request for metallic linen sources!
I would love to know where you found the metallic linen you used on the headboard! I just bought an antique fainting couch in desperate need of reupholstery and I think metallic linen would be perfect for it. Thanks!
Would love to know where the turquoise ottoman is from – I'm coveting that whole room!

I have literally been sitting on a project to do a tufted headboard but have been scared to pull the trigger! Can't WAIT for your tutorial!!!! so excited, can you tell:)
Can't WAIT to see the tutorial!
Can I say that I'm not a fan of the tufting on the sides? Can't wait to see what you come up with – I'm sure it'll be fabulous and I'll eat my words :-)
You should definitely tackle the ottoman! Looks so cozy and comfy and I know you can make it look amazing! xoxo.

I'm so impressed that you're taking on these projects. I'm still trying to work up the courage for stenciling!
I love metallic linen! You must share your source!
I'm attempting to do a tufted ottoman, but I already ruled out one that is tufted on all sides. That's just way too much work. I'll be happy if I can come up with one that is just tufted on top. =)
Hi Jenny! Love the metallic linen. I'm not sure if you've seen this or not, but for those who haven't, here is a pretty good diamond-tufting How-To guide!

Yes, totally crazy! But the block printing fabric struck me as even crazier.
The results could be fabulous though.
Please post pics and tutorial soon. I've been scouring the web after deciding I wanted to make an upholstered headboard and reading your post on your upholstered bed. I've wanted to make a tufted headboard and that pic makes me want to make a diamond tufted headboard.
Ooh, please make the ottoman! I've been pinning those on Pinterest. So beautiful. The metallic fabric headboard is stunning!
I love your blog. I'm so glad you know about tufting. I made a diamond tufted ottoman a few months ago (1st attempt), and now the buttons and twines are coming loose and popping out. I used sewing button and hemp twine. I don't think they are strong enough. What type of button and twine do you use? Thanks.
I LOVE IT!!! I've been catching up on some of my favorite blogs as I've been out for a bit and you've had some amazing projects and posts lately. I love what you've done and I love your blog. Can you tell me where that metallic linen is from? BTW, I'm going to do the metal boarders that you posted about recently on some cheap end tables in my daughter's room from Target (I think you did them on Ikea tables). Make sure you stop by and check it out, and check out our recent makeover on HGTVs Color Splash. XOXO
Just thought you might like the fabric on this one:

I love diamond tufting, but something says I don't have the skills to do it! I'm hoping to work up to it, but I would love a good tutorial!!

I'll have to check back the the tutorial – the headboard looks great!
