There are some exciting developments happening with LGN and my decorating business this year. I appreciate all the leeway you readers give me, understanding that it is tricky to write a blog, run a decorating business, and raise three young children in the city.

I feel so flattered when people email and ask to be put on my waiting list as a decorating client. Fortunately and unfortunately, I am beyond overbooked, and because of the exciting developments I just mentioned, I’m keeping the decorating business on the smaller side for now. It was a tough decision, but I feel good about it.

I feel really bad every day when I have to turn down new clients. Then recently I realized that many of my readers are decorators trying to get their name out in to the market. There is more than enough business to go around. I liked the idea of this post, where readers were able to share their favorite fabric stores around the nation. And I thought it might be helpful to start a similar type post that acts sort of like a decorator yellow pages.

If you own a decorating or interior design business, or you are new and want to start taking on clients, feel free to post a comment here with the following information:

*Please include all of the below information in your comment submission. Incomplete postings will be deleted. You might want to copy/paste the list below into your comment as a guide*

Business Name
City and State

Experience (years in the business, degrees, licenses, etc)
Fee range (you can put your actual billing fees here if you want, or maybe say ‘Budget decorator’ or ‘High-end decorator’)
eDecorating and/or local clients preferred?
Any other info you’d like to share about your business (like, ‘I don’t do kitchens or renos or whatever’). Feel free to also include a little blurb about your preferred style, like ‘Modern’ or ‘Traditional’ or ‘Eclectic’ etc.

I’m hoping this can be a good resource for people with all sorts of styles and budgets, who want help making their homes more beautiful.

I have been working professionally for the past 2 years and informally for many years before that. A design plan starts at $350 per room. I also offer consulting and full project management. Please contact me for details. I'd describe my work as "New Traditionalist" – taking great style from the past 100 years and updating it for 21st century lifestyles and tastes. I focus primarily on local clients but love to take on e-decorating as well through my e*h design service. I love working on renovations, bring 'em my way!

  3. Jenny-

You are smart and the time with your children goes fast as mine are soon headed off to college and one left at home. It is a juggling act to find the right balance to do it all.

    Budget-High End
I take both edecorating and local clients.

Spent the last five years helping clients find their sense of style and voice while creating their home.

Fees/Budgets: I am willing to work with clients to determine a package of services appropriate to their project & budget. In short yes eDecorating and/or local clients are gladly accepted.

Whether it's decorating a restaurant from half way across the globe or pulling together a house in matter of 4 days, I thrive with a good challenge.

After living and working in California my personal tastes lean modern with a reflection of the places I've been. However, while working with a wide range of clients here in the Midwest I've found a new love for an updated traditional look.

I have been working as an interior decorator for 12 yrs (with a 4 year hiatus while living in italy and taking care of my twins!)…so really 8 years I guess!
All of my clients are local…but I am willing to try e clients.
I have worked with clients in every budget. My style is a little eclectic, a little European and a little traditional.Mixing old and new is what I love, with lots of texture thrown in. I love working with clients to find out what works best for them and the way they live.I believe that its not always where you live…but how you live that is important!

7 years experience, 4 on my own with Cline Rose. An allied member of ASID.

Mid to high end designer but work with any and all budgets.

I have never done e-decorating before but would be interested. Otherwise local clients in the DC metro area.

I do a little bit of everything. Personally, I am transitional and enjoy mixing and matching styles to create a cohesive eclectic feel. My goal is always to create a room with casual elegance regardless of the style.

  40. Jenny,

What a a great idea and a thoughtful way to help other bloggers and designers.

As I have said in the comments before, I love the fact that your designs are modern, yet traditional. You are about quality and yet you look for great finds on Craigs List, ebay, tag sales, great stores, and discount stores.

And you allow so many readers to decorate and learn from you without breaking the bank.

Good luck with your projects. I am sure they will be great.

  41. Thank you for this! What a fab idea!
