As a designer (and blogger) my philosophy has strongly become centered around authenticity. Your post explains one of the reasons WHY we need to focus on authenticity in design.

As a designer I come up with some original and creative ideas, but by the time the project is finished and ready to be photographed, it always seems that someone else has just beaten me to the punch. So frustrating! But you are right, "civilians" aren't used to it or bored. The KCACO poster I used in my friend's nursery is her fave thing, and everyone loves it, even though using it made me barf in my mouth. Hahaha
