I’m behind today. But tomorrow’s inspiration post is about large artwork. There are quite a few amazing over-sized art pieces in this stunning apartment designed by one of my all-times, Timothy Whealon. The spread was published in Veranda.
And speaking of Veranda…Dara Caponigro, of Domino fame, has taken the helm at Veranda now. Are you as excited as I am by this? I love her new direction with the publication. {PS this was a fun interview with Dara from the lovely people at Shelterpop}

I'll take picture number one please. I love the colors. It still never ceases to amaze me that something as simple as black birds on white canvas can look so incredible
i agree – pic #1 is delicious!
Too funny- I was just collecting images of large artwork for a post as well:) I love the look of a big graphic photograph or paiting- adds a lot of oomph to a room. I too love the birds!
This space of T.W. is one of my favorites in the last 6 months of all publications.
Can't wait until your post tomorrow!

I completely agree. I love the look of huge art…especially when it's squeezed in perfectly. These images are perfect examples.
I have several big blank walls that need some large artwork on them – loving the inspiration!
The first one is so modern yet whimsical. It could go in so many different rooms! And who doesn't love birds???
Totally obsessing over GINORMOUS art these days, so your upcoming post couldn't come at a better time! Can't wait!
THANK YOU! Large artwork is one of my current design quests for my living room. Thank you for planning this post just for me – ha!
Loving the blown-up photograph in the second picture, almost a modern-day architectural print.
Ginormous art can come with a matching price tag. I recently stuck a Thomas Paul "Swoop" scarf in an old frame, with the rest of the (hideous) poster covered in a neutral linen. It looks graphic & simple, a lot like the art in the first picture, & has the added bonus of lots of white space that serves as a family schedule/whiteboard. (A la some brilliant blog post, Trixie something? It was reposted on Prudent Baby.)
Use what you've got!
I too love the bird picture, and I think I'm going to try something similar. Just buy a large (very large) canvas or poster frame, and use online silhouettes to trace some images that you like. If you're the do-it-yourself artsy type, it shouldn't be too hard!
great minds think alike!!!
