Sadly, the Tag Sale scheduled for this weekend has been postponed because we can’t find a venue that can host all the sellers and the anticipated number of buyers. :(
If anyone knows of a large parking lot in the DC area that is available some Saturday in the next month, please email me.
Thanks!
Cassie – we're definitely open to any of the DC suburbs.
I've called EVERYWHERE! Churches, schools, commercial real estate owners. Even IKEA!! No luck so far though.
Shaina – All of those places are pricey – most about $750 for a couple hours. I'm already going to have to pay a lot to get all my stuff out to DC (truck, gas, hotel, child care). So I can't really front any sort of money for rental of the space also.
Susie – We're anticipating between 700 and 1000 shoppers and 10-30 sellers depending on the weekend.
Hi Anon – I think I might have called Washington-Lee (I called most of the schools), but that sale information is good to know. I'll try them again.
Lucketts was a strong possibility at one point, but we decided that it's too far out.
hi jenny! what about moving it to alexandria? or college park? and maybe september would be better when all the college students are back…. just a thought. i am hoping to come and was going to be away this weekend, so at least now i can come!

Here's what I can think of off the top of my head: DC Armory, Dulles Expo, County Fair Grounds, MD renaissance festival parking lots, Fed Ex field, RFK parking lots, anywhere near BWI maybe?
How many sellers and buyers are you anticipating? (How much space is needed)?

two thoughts:
1. washington-lee high school in arlington hosts a sale first saturday of each month; maybe on one of the off months?
2. how about luckett's in their open space?

My sister-in-law and her husband are ministers at churches in Bethesda and Silver Spring. If you are interested in moving outside of the city, I can put you in touch with them.
Hi Jenny,
I live in Alexandria right near Old Town which is super close to DC. There is a huge field that belongs to the City of Alexandria right behind my house that is just off US-1. It is clean and well kept (meaning the grass isn't overgrown) and there is an ally that runs all the way around the park where people could drive up and unload. There is free parking all around in the neighborhood. I don't know how you'd feel about doing it on the grass but I can't imagine there'd be a problem having it there…if you're interested, let me know and I can try to see what the City would say about it. Would love to come to the sale! Cameron chwyche@gmail.com
I don't have any specific knowledge of sites in DC, but you might check places like Elks clubs. They sometimes have large parking lots that they don't use very often.
Have it in Philly!
A few suggestions: VRE (VA Railway Express) stations. (Try the one in Burke, first). Many of them house Farmers Market's on Sat.'s, but Sundays may be open…
Would also check here: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/ & here: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/wp-recenter.htm
Or the Fairfax County Government Building (TONS of open parking space – the annual county fair is held here).
Or Reston Town Center: http://www.restontowncenter.com/
Keep us posted!!

How about the area in Adams Morgan at the Marie Reed Rec Center? They've had the Crafts Fair there for several years.
