Do you ever get tricked at stores into thinking the shop is WAY bigger than it actually is? Mirrors, baby.
Here’s one way to do it right…
I have a feeling there is a DIY project in my future involving a small dining room and a box of inexpensive mirror tiles from the hardware store. Before seeing this photo I would have gone with plain, flat finish mirrors, but I actually like the look of the bevel here.
Ooh. How cool would a wall of octagonal mirrors be?
I love mirrors!
Wow, I can see where you are going with this. I cannot wait for you to show us what you create.

I loved this look when I saw this photo. I think the small tiles make it look so much more modern. Sometime big mirror walls give me bad flashbacks to those beach condos when I was a kid :)
This is the first time I've noticed that big donut art over the fireplace. Funny.
That's gorgeous! And I love funky shape, go for it!
Knowing you it will look totally amazing! You seem to have the Midas touch when it comes to design! (;
Hoping you know that putting up mirror tiles is not for rank amateurs like me! They came with little adhesive squares and little by little within 10 to 20 minutes of putting them up, they fell down! You probably know you must use mirror mastic and blue tape until they have fully adhered!
I finally had professionals come in and do large sheets of real mirror – and loved the effect.
Good luck on your project!

I have that small dining room that is just begging for mirrors like these. Maybe I'll give it a go. But if YOU want to come to my house and try it…
that is a beautiful room! those mirrors are done right…for sure. not certain about the donut picture? :) :) but that wasn't the point anyways. :) :)
I saw this image in Lonny and obviously loved it, but for some reason seeing it isolated here just made it click! I HAVE to do this on either side of the fireplace in our teensy tiny living room! I could make them look like giant windows! Brills. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love this!
You're in luck! Ikea just came out with new mirror tiles. I think they are amazing. They come in a package with 2 different colors, 1 is slightly tinted (almost just regulart mirror) and the other is a bronze tint. I think I would seperate them and use them on different projects, but the possibilities are endless! http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60182059
Oops, url didn't work. Look up Honefoss on Ikea's website.
Beautiful. I saw a similar design on Decorating Cents and they glued buttons at the cross sections of the mirrors for a mirrored tufted look.
so much bigger, love it!
Gosh, I love this! There is so much dimension, it's fantastic.
Gorgeous! And I loved that house in Lonny. The kids rooms were my favourite! http://www.whatsupwhimsy.com
the octagonal mirrors would be bananas! i can't wait to see what you devise.
I was wondering if anyone knew where the chairs in that dining photo came from? I just recovered four vintage chrome chairs in white vinyl and am looking for end chairs for a rectangular table. Those chairs would be perfect!!!
it can kinds of look 80's to me sometimes. they are tricky
You should check out my dining room, i had a gorgeous mirror brick wall installed! I love it… It reflects the trees
